Very Disappointed Not a 5 Star
The bathroom was faulty and very outdated, especially considering the price paid. For the amount charged, I expected much better facilities and a more modern setup. The condition of the bathroom was disappointing and not up to standard. Additionally, it’s surprising that breakfast wasn’t included, which is typically standard at this price point. Overall, the value for money just wasn’t there. The experience didn’t meet expectations, and I wouldn’t recommend it to others based on what was offered. There are better options available for the same cost. This place really needs improvements to justify what they’re charging.

Bad experience
Terrible experience. Bathroom smelled of sewer and it only kept getting worse. Despite maintenance work it didn't improve. After two days, they moved us to another room, it had a blocked sink and the window wouldn't close. They said to move us again. But it's ridiculous to pack and unpack so many times. The front desk staff and the manager on duty Karim were also not helpful in our request to check out early.

Disappointing Stay – Not up to 5-Star Expectations
Our stay at Anwarul Madina Movenpick was very disappointing. We had booked a single-bed room for two persons (Sept 17–20), but were shown a room with four beds. When we asked to see another room that matched our booking, the staff member dismissed us rudely and told us to go back to reception because he had no time. At the front desk, the response was equally careless—we were told they were short-staffed and would have to wait. The assigned room, after an hour, itself was small, with worn-out bedsheets, dated curtains, and a bad drainage odor. What was most concerning was the carefree attitude of both the front desk and staff, showing little regard for guest comfort. For a hotel carrying a 5-star label, this was far below standard.

Not very clean but amazing location
We stayed at the Mövenpick in mekkah so had high hopes for this one sadly it didn’t live up. The location is 10/10 honestly that made the stay bearable. The first room we had felt unclean and even putting bare feet on the carpet felt gross, the bathroom smelt very damp and fusty. The beds were so hard and difficult for the kids to sleep on. My husband went downstairs to complain and they offered us a room upgrade the following day which they’d previously tried charging us for. The too. Upgrade location and view 10/10 room itself felt more clean but still very dated. The bathrooms are old and need upgrading but the new room didn’t smell as bad. They get away with saying 5* due to location nothing else. We opted for an add on breakfast again for the kids in the morning. It wasn’t as good as mekkah breakfast at all, but it had basics. We stayed 3 nights and it was bearable

Convenient Stay during our Umrah trip – Excellent Location, Great Service, Exorbitant pricing, But Showing Its Age.
I stayed here with my family during our recent Umrah trip. This property has been around for a while — long before becoming a Mövenpick, it was known as Anwar Al Madinah. And while the Mövenpick branding adds some credibility, the age of the hotel still shows in parts of the property like the lobby, corridors, and rooms. ✅ The Good: Size: It’s a large hotel, capable of accommodating a high number of guests — ideal during busy Umrah seasons. Service: The reception staff were polite and welcoming. Although the check-in area was crowded, a staff member at the Accor Member Desk quickly assisted us with priority check-in. Very efficient! Location: Unbeatable. The hotel is located right at Gate 326 of Masjid an-Nabawi — you simply step out and you're there. Restaurant: The breakfast buffet was excellent — one of the best I’ve had during my stays. Rooms: Spacious and flexible in terms of layout. Options range from 2 beds to 4 beds, which is perfect for families or groups. ⚠️ The Not-So-Good: In Need of Renovation: While clean, the interiors feel dated. The age of the property is noticeable, especially in the hallways and room furnishings. Price: On the highly expensive side. 💬 Final Thoughts: If location is your top priority — especially for easy access to Masjid an-Nabawi — and you value good service, this hotel is a good choice. Just be prepared for an older property and an extremely higher pricing. Despite that, I would consider staying here again for the convenience and hospitality.
