I stayed at Anwar Al Madinah Mövenpick in January this year, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend it based on my experience. While the hotel may have been a 5-star establishment years ago, it feels outdated and in desperate need of renovation. I stayed in a quad room, which was disappointingly small for the price I paid. The bathroom, in particular, was unacceptable. There was visible mold in the shower area and on the screen, which is a huge concern when it comes to cleanliness and maintenance. On the positive side, the hotel's proximity to the ladies' entrance to the Mosque is a big advantage, making it very convenient. The breakfast was good, and the staff, especially the concierge service, were invaluable in providing assistance. However, given the condition of the room and bathroom, I cannot justify the high price I was charged for the stay. This was my first time staying at a Mövenpick hotel, and unfortunately, it will be my last. I expected much more from a hotel with a 5-star rating, and I was left disappointed.
They canceled our reservation when we were flight and increased the rent triple for the same reservation and when we argue they laughed at us and there were more families with same situation with same issue. I will never recommend this filith and 3rd grade hotel
Disappointed with the hotel. Disgusting service front the staff on the desk. Came with, my parents and a baby and a child so we booked together. They gave us our room is two seperate towers!!??! Separating my children and parents. We paid for an extra day to avoid this from happening. The staff on the desk refused to put our rooms together as there were simply not enough rooms available. We had to go back and forth for the whole duration of our stay. The rooms were also not up to standard.
The rooms are worn out, the bathroom is very poor and the shower is not up to any hotel standard, the buffet not appealing, the All Accor staff was not attentive
The hotel is located next to the Haram. It was not the best experience given the money paid. We had been given a bad room at first but managed to talk to the Duty Manager who was amazingly helpful and offered to change it to a better one. I am not sure if it was our best choice but definitely the most suitable concerning the availability due to the season
