Absolutely Not Worth the Price – Unhygienic, Misleading, and Uncomfortable
I stayed at Anwar Al Madinah Mövenpick and paid £120 per night, expecting a premium experience. What I got instead was a deeply disappointing and uncomfortable stay. First, the hygiene standards were shocking. The bathroom was in poor condition, dirty, moldy, with visible grime and damage around the sink and shower fittings. I’ve attached photos showing how neglected and poorly maintained it was. There were also cockroaches crawling near the air vents, which was horrifying. We were told we were getting a king-size bed, but it was actually two single beds pushed together with one sheet thrown over them. This made sleeping extremely uncomfortable and uneven. Both my husband and I developed serious back pain, and we’ve had to undergo physiotherapy since returning to the UK. That alone made this stay a nightmare. The gym was barely functional, with most equipment either broken or in poor condition. It also had very odd opening hours, which made it practically unusable. I brought up several of these issues to staff, but the response was passive and unhelpful. For a Mövenpick property, I expected much better, this felt more like a budget motel than a 5-star hotel. Also the peephole on the door was burnt so when anyone came to the door, we couldn’t check to see who it was without having to open the door itself. Poor health and safety here aswell. Do not waste your money here. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you value cleanliness, honesty, and basic comfort.

Great location but hotel and management could be improved
Very good location to the prophets pbuh mosque especially for women as the entrance is right outside There’s shopping and food outlets nearby Hotel layout was a bit difficult to understand as there’s 3 buildings and too many exits but once you know it’s ok. Bed and breakfast options were good very comfy beds however we had problems with our room since day one This was due to us being at the 14th floor the top floor of the building and from our room we could hear very loud constant noise coming through the wall and ceiling. We complained about this straight away and it wasn’t resolved and no one got back to us. I spoke to receptionist to discuss this and wanted to speak to management again no response. Hence the low star. The room also had a bath with a showerhead and as it’s so compact the water would go all over the bathroom floor, for a 5* hotel that was actually quite disappointing. We booked this hotel six months prior and paid in advance so thought that this would be in our favour but it didn’t affect the service received. We just beared with it for the sake of being in a spiritual place. Also I wanted to add that the brothers who looked after our floor were very efficient and gave us excellent service. Their names were Tanjim and Saiful from housekeeping.

Bad experience
Visited the hotel during our stay in Medina last Month and choose this hotel. It’s a ok type hotel but will never accepting this is a 5 star hotel. Service was awful. Only thing I like was their breakfast and its very close to Masjid Nabawi. May be they dont have enough staffs or trained staffs. We had to call and wait for whole day to refresh the room. Bathroom was dirty, towel was clean. I would never go again to that hotel and wouldn’t recommend to anyone as a five star hotel.

Extremely bad experience
initially they book us in an extremely smelly, damp and dirty room with stains on the chairs, broken rusty bar in the shower which was so dangerous if someone hold it while going in or out of the shower
