Below average hotel

A below average hotel to stay at and no value for money at all The only 2 good things are the food of the main meals at the Italian restaurant only and the aqua park water slides Negative things: - Staff are not friendly or welcoming at all, actually you can hear them arguing in the hallways (asked yesterday to speak to the operations manager to give him my feedback and haven't heard from him till now!) - Animation team pretty much doesn't exist, no need to look for activities or fun, just a daily game of waterpolo at the aqua park - The main pool is dirty and cold, also the aqua park pool is very cold - Staff again don't really care to maintain their assets so you will find many broken beach and pool chairs - Snacks are so lousy, for example, ice cream is available for 1 hour only at the main pool only! - This placed is named as a resort but no way it is. This is merely a 4 stars hotel - Night shows are so lame that people leave early and when the show ends you can hear the next door hotel partying as one should! Overall I have visited a number of higher and lower rated hotels in the area, but haven't been as disappointed as i am from this hotel. Absolutely not recommended at all!

Not even a 3* hotel and not all inc concept

Since we love spending our vacations in Egypt and want to explore a new hotel and beach every year, we chose the Movenpick Waterpark Resort in Soma Bay. However, we never imagined that we would be leaving this hotel within 24 hours. The first shock we experienced was in the restaurant. In one part of the restaurant, the chairs were so dirty that I wasn’t sure if I should even sit down if I wanted to keep my clothes clean. The food selection was limited, and it was truly unbelievable that there were no French fries or plain grilled chicken, as our children couldn’t eat the overly spiced dishes that were on offer. The only coffee available was American drip coffee, which was awful. The other type of coffee from the machine was only available during breakfast, but the line was so long that I gave up. When the room was finally ready, we were shocked by the dilapidated furniture and the extra beds for the children. I should mention that our older child is considered an adult because they are 14 years old, and we paid for accommodation for a third adult, yet we were given a room with metal-framed extra beds for both children. We were shown three rooms, larger ones, of course, for an additional fee, but all had worn-out furniture. The room we finally settled into was the most decent, but as you can see in the photos, it had damaged furniture and a bathroom, and it was very dirty. What was particularly strange to us was that there were doors between rooms, one on our side and one on the other guests' side, that could be unlocked from the inside. Our door had a broken lock, so the people in the neighboring room could freely enter ours and take whatever they wanted. They could even take the safe and carry it out in their suitcase since it wasn’t secured in the closet where it was placed. There is only one pool, which is small, the number of loungers around it is insufficient, and it’s hard to find a free lounger unless you get up early to reserve a spot. The beach is small, which wouldn’t be a big deal if a part of it wasn’t designated for adults-only, which doesn’t make sense in such a small space. The loungers on the beach are mostly broken and patched up, and the entrance to the sea is a long shallow area, so if you wanted to enjoy swimming, forget about it. The lawns are yellow and sparse, as are the flowers, which wouldn’t be so important if everything else were in order. The all-inclusive concept we paid for doesn’t include drinks from the minibar, there are no refrigerators with water anywhere, and water can only be found on the beach in some old water dispensers whose hygiene and maintenance are questionable. Ice cream is only available during one part of the day, for a few hours, in the hotel bar. What ultimately disappointed us the most on that first day was that in the evening, we didn’t have anywhere to sit with the children in an air-conditioned space, like a café or bar, to have a drink and play board games, enjoying our family vacation. The only air-conditioned bar is adults-only, and it’s not possible to get a drink or sit with the family in the hotel lobby. The only place we could sit together in an air-conditioned space was our room, where we couldn’t sit on the sofa and chair because there was a risk they would break, and where we had nothing to drink except water, as minibar drinks are charged extra, and bar drinks can’t be taken to the room. Since we didn’t have a single positive experience, we decided to leave the hotel after 24 hours and go to another one not far from the Movenpick, where we spent the rest of our vacation with our family. I hope we won’t receive a generic response from the Movenpick staff about how they are striving to improve and that our opinion is important to them; we genuinely don’t need it because we are sure that this hotel cannot be categorized with 5 stars, and the service cannot be called an all-inclusive service. Choose another hotel. Best regards.

Terrible Service

Hotel management is absent! They let travel companies book a so called triple room with 2 standard beds so why thehell did i pay for triple??!! To put an extra small bed that fits a child in a very small room This can't be a 3 star hotel even Food is awful cleanliness of everything is of no acceptable standard.. It's a shame to any brand!
