Extremely Disappointed – Not Worth the 5-Star Rating
I stayed at this Mövenpick resort expecting a premium 5-star experience, but it was far from that. Here's my honest review: 1. Late Check-In & Room Issues Our check-in was delayed by 2 hours. Staff claimed housekeeping and maintenance were preparing the room. When we finally entered, the bathroom had broken fixtures, the safe wasn’t working, and the room wasn’t cleaned at all. Instead of relaxing after a long trip, our first day was wasted fixing issues that should never happen in a 5-star hotel. 2. Food & Dining Food was repetitive and lacked variety. Dinner restaurants were always fully booked, even with early reservations. 3. Aqua Park The aqua park itself was okay. But the staff constantly pressured us to write positive Google reviews and when refusing they keep Asking You, This attitude was Extremely Annoying and not to help, but just to show off in front of managers. 4. Reception & Staff Reception was understaffed and unprofessional — we dealt with the same overwhelmed person every day. Staff struggled under pressure and response times were very slow. The Front Office Manager showed no interest in solving issues also very aggressive person when he found out we were Egyptian guests. 5. Housekeeping – 0/10 Rooms aren’t cleaned unless you specifically call reception, which we weren’t informed of. Even after requests, cleaning was very slow and poorly done. 6. Room Comfort & Capacity Family room ACs were too weak for the space. No proper triple rooms — they gave us a low-quality chair bed unsuitable for adults. When we complained, they kept delaying, then said there were “no options” on the last day. 7. Animation & Entertainment Below average team with poor adult engagement. Not inclusive — Egyptian guests were clearly not prioritized or welcomed. 8. Pool Cards We lost part of our first day because there weren’t enough pool cards available. 9. The Only Pros? The location and beach were the only good things about the resort. But honestly, we could have chosen any other hotel with beach access and saved ourselves the frustration. I’m sharing this knowing they’ll probably respond with a generic “thank you for your feedback” and do nothing about it. But this was a huge disappointment, and I will never book a Mövenpick resort again. If you care about your time, money, and peace of mind — don’t waste it here.

Very Disappointed – Not What You’d Expect from Movenpick
Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my stay. The food quality was very poor and the variety was extremely limited. The staff seemed untrained and lacked the experience needed to handle basic guest needs. Overall, the service was far below expectations. I do not recommend this hotel.

Wonderful
I recently stayed at Mövenpick Waterpark Resort & Spa Soma Bay and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The resort is beautiful, clean, and relaxing — perfect for a peaceful getaway. A special shoutout to Mina Gerges at the front desk! He was incredibly helpful, polite, and always greeted us with a warm smile. Mina made the check-in smooth and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable during our stay. His professionalism and kindness truly stood out and made a big difference in our overall experience. Thank you to the entire team, and especially Mina, for making our trip memorable. I highly recommend this resort and would definitely come back again!
