We stayed at Mövenpick Hotel Sharm El Sheikh from 21.12.2025 until 01.01.2026 with our family, and unfortunately this was the worst holiday we have ever had. The rooms were very dirty and very old. Furniture is worn out, everything looks neglected, and the rooms clearly need renovation. The most shocking part was that we were given a bed with stains of blood and urine. This is absolutely unacceptable, unhygienic, and disgusting for any hotel, especially one that claims to be 5-star. The food was very bad throughout our stay. Poor quality, very limited variety, and many dishes looked old. Cleanliness in restaurants and common areas was terrible — dirty tables, dirty floors, and no proper hygiene standards. The reception staff were extremely unprofessional. When we had problems and tried to call reception, they simply turned off the phone instead of helping us. No support, no responsibility, no respect for guests. The biggest disappointment was the New Year’s gala dinner. It was completely unacceptable. A lot of the food was frozen, tasteless, and badly prepared. We came back hungry, which is unbelievable for a paid New Year’s event. This hotel does not meet 5-star standards at all. Dirty and old rooms, shocking hygiene issues, very bad food, terrible service, and poor management. We do not recommend this hotel to anyone.
We spent some time looking for a hotel where we could snorkel and not be disappointed and this was an excellent pick location-wise. There are several small beaches and snorkelling was excellent from each of them- we saw different rays, barracuda and moray eels, as well as countless other fish. Much of the coral is cordoned off to allow it to recover which was really excellent as some tourists seemed to need hard rules. Food was excellent, and staff were lovely and professional- with a special shout out to Fathalllah in the dining area, and Fatma at the ice-cream stand. We took our son on an intro dive for the first time and the diving club was professional and he enjoyed it very much (pictures are from snorkelling as we dont have a dive camera). We didnt take part in the entertainment which was far away enough from our rooms to be unnoticeable, meaning noise was a minimum, bar the Russian ladies in the room next door. Rooms were simple but clean, and met our needs. We would be delighted to return.
We rested at the end of September. The weather is just like that, +32 in the afternoon, +20 in the evening. About the hotel: early check-in and extension of the room is impossible for any money, so keep this in mind. The rooms are standard, old, but you can live, everything works, the furniture is intact. Food: there is always fish, meat, chicken, in the evening something on the grill, once a week shrimps, squid and Tc. There were always places and dishes. Mango juices, guava, pineapple packaged. Fruits of 5-6 types regularly. 4 beaches for every taste, there are reefs. Alcohol after 12 o'clock, Hotel for a quiet rest, without intrusive animation and noisy music at night. Of course, there is entertainment, but everything is far from the rooms and does not interfere in any way. We walked around Naama Bay every night and after that noise, returning to the movenpik, enjoyed calm music in the clearing. ALacarte indian restaurant amazing
Naama beach is 2mins walk from the end of the hotel grounds, which is close enough but far enough for you to have some peace and quiet. Hotel in 4 blocks and block 1 has recently been refurbished and we were fortunate enough to stay there. All 4 blocks connected and wheelchair accessible and lifts. There’s a lot of walking, it’s a big site, stairs and ramps to get from beach to reception it’s approx 6 flights of stairs. Omar at reception promptly checked us in, explained the layout and activities were the hotel. He was great! 4 different beaches each with sun beds and corals to explore. A jetty at beach 4 with lifeguards throughout. Football court under refurbishment. Tennis- 4 courts, decent condition can play for free with their rackets and balls. Food Dinner- usually had 1 each of lamb/chicken/fish/beef hot dishes, plenty of salads, gluten free section also, 2 daily soups, fresh spaghetti made to order. Khaled the omlette chef, smiling and always remembered your order. Ahmed (waiter with receding hairline) in dining area was also helpful. Onsite Egyptian and Indian restaurant as à la carte. You do get 1 meal at the Egyptian restaurant if you stay 7 nights included in the package., Room cleaner hashem was great. WiFi throughout the hotel is excellent and in our rooms we got over 30mbs. Ice cream- vouchers for each person to have 2 ice creams per day, near the pool and available after dinner also. Mosquitos are prevalent , they do spray the grounds at sunset but some get through. Not much to do for teenagers during winter evenings, as biliards, table tennis only available whilst it’s light. Billiards is $5 per hour. M.farag at reception was helpful on exit , luggage stored and promptly checked out. Onsite faculty for Friday prayer Ahmed in the lobby bar was great and always served with a smile, the bar is open until midnight, and it’s usually quiet. They do have a chocolate fountain and other treats daily at the lobby bar between 4-5pm. Building work happening to renovate the place, but done in a way which doesn’t disturb your holiday. Gym and spa facilities opposite the main entrance. Gym is free but sauna is extra. Gym has enough for a workout, smith machine with weights going up to 100kg. The gym instructor was always on hand to help you set machines up and show you correct technique - very useful
I'd like to commend Mohamed Farag for the great hospitality and fascinating our whole stay, Mohamed Fahmy from Elkababgy for amazing service and high quality food together with Gigi who took a great care of my kiddo and gave him a great company.
