Just a short stay prior to a cruise. Just a 10 minuter walk to the airport metro line which was useful. Pool was warm and inviting with attendants quick to sort out your towels and umbrella. Didn't eat there but enjoyed a few coffee and cakes at the ground floor cafe. Overall we enjoyed our stay there. Tip - If you need a taxi do not use one recommended by the hotel as although still relatively cheap they do not use a meter and charge more than double!
Where to start? This hotel is quite grandiose when you arrive at the property. But, don't let the looks fool you. The quality here is below average at best. The area close to the airport has so much choice, this one property should be at the bottom of your choices. The breakfast is cheap. Yesterday's leftovers are served for breakfast! The egg station is maned by an employee who simply doesn't know the word "smile". He seems pissed off to be there. The buffet has little credible choices. There are no bananas. Strange for a 5-star place. The service staff are rude. There is little pleasure with speaking to anyone at reception. Having dinner at the buffet restaurant is like pulling teeth out of your mouth! Deserts are not fresh. The food that is cooked in front of you is ok - but the rest is simply not good. Asking for fries, was like asking the chef to jump out of the window! It was so unpleasant. Cost was exorbitant! McDonalds would have been better than this. The pool are is small. You can sit at one of the tables, no waiter will come, no one will approach you - except the shisha guy! Forget about getting a beer at the side of the pool, unless you go up and order it yourself. Asking for a late check out is terrible! They make you feel small and un-important! Asking for a shaving kit - took them over an hour! Towels seem to be a scarce commodity at this property. It seems they are afraid to give you more than one. The shower is awkwardly designed so that you cannot take longer than 3 minute showers. The water doesn't drain, so it spills onto the bathroom floor in less than 3 minutes. The room is spacious, the windows are disgusting! Views are of nothing! The bed is firm! Pillows are comfortable. Avoid staying in a room with co-joining doors - it is a nightmare. The door is paper thin and if you are unlucky to have some idiot who spends his time watching TV until 4 am - then good luck trying to sleep. The noise level is unbearable. Honestly, the Millenium across the street is cheaper and much, much better in terms of quality. Remember, this is an "airport-hotel" - except they have no shuttles!! Incredible! You have to take a cab - except no cab wants to take you to the airport, because it so close, its a wast of time for them! Some people end up walking to the terminal. Imagine doing that at 45C - good luck! For a premier hotel, this is simply not at the level it should be. If looks are deceiving this hotel is the champion!
