I had the chance to stay at Mövenpick Suriwongse Chiang Mai last week during our company outing trip, and it was such a lovely experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Khun Pete, the General Manager, and his professional team. Their hospitality made us feel right at home. Our room on the 2nd floor was spacious, clean, and fully equipped with everything we needed. Everything was well maintained and very comfortable. The spa on the same floor was a highlight for me. I enjoyed a 90-minute Thai massage and it was truly relaxing. The service was excellent and the price was very reasonable. We had dinner in private room on the terrace, and the service team really impressed us. They were attentive and friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious, we loved everything we tried! Breakfast buffet was a perfect way to start the day, with a great variety of local and international dishes, fresh drinks, and brewed coffee. The hotel’s location is unbeatable – just steps away from convenience stores, Starbucks, a temple, a night market, and within walking distance to Tha Pae Walking Street. I would definitely come back again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.
Stayed here again... sorry but it stinks. Smell or urine in the lobby and smell of....worse in the room.... The place needs a renovation.... Well located. Near the night market. The free chocolate fondue hour is cool. Breakfast is passable.
Postives: clean bedding and towels and the breakfast was good quality and a good range of options. Negatives: there was a huge step into the tiny shower room (loo roll in picture to give a sense of how large the step was!) and the finish was not of a good quality. The carpets were stained in places too. There were no blackout curtains so the room was light early in the morning. This was too much of a problem as sleeping on the beds that were so hard it was like ‘sleeping on brick’ according to my son. Check in was 2pm but we were still waiting at gone 2.30pm with no apology. We were simply told the cleaning team had been distracted! When we did finally get in they had forgotten to deliver our luggage to the room so we had to go back down and ask for the bags. We went to the pool and there were only 2 sun beds for the whole hotel. The pool was very cold and there was an area that was sectioned off that had a lot of rubbish in and made the pool look untidy and uncared for. In the corridors there were lots of plants that looked half dead and this added to the impression that there was no attention to detail or care.
I am writing to express my disappointment with the service and facilities at Movenpick Suriwongse Hotel Chiang Mai hotel during my recent stay on 2- 4 Apr 2025. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet the expectations I had based on the glowing reviews and your reputation. Firstly, upon arrival, I encountered issues with the parking which is limited parking in front of the entrance. Secondly, I was disappointed with the quality of the privilege service for Accor member as I hold an Accor Platinum member. In the document which had been placed in my room. As an Accor Platinum member, I could be entitled to enjoy Chocolate hour from 16.00-17.00 pm. I have tried it, and I feel it is not meet the 4.5 stars hotel. Have your Hotel Manager or Resident Manager ever tried or observe what you have offered to the customer? Franky speaking, once I saw it then i made the decision to walk away and go back to my room. It is the worst Chocolate hour that I have ever seen! Lastly, my worst and unacceptable experience at your hotel is about the Happy Hour from 17.00 - 19.00 pm. on 3 Apr 2025 I have informed by your staff that it would serve at Munch room (I am not sure that I correctly spell). Then at 17.9 pm, I went to the second for at Munch room and I met one guy or your staff. He informed me that for Happy Hour as a member, I have to go down for the bar at first floor. Once, I went to the first-floor bar and your staff again told me that for member Happy Hour will be served at the lobby lounge. What is the correct information that your hotel and your staff have to inform the customer and member? It was not done yet! when I sat at the lobby lounge, and I ordered 3 drinks. One of your staff Khun Nuch- Asst. Manager -Guest lounge service came to inform me that I have to move to the Munch room for Happy Hour. it's enough for me then i have a heavy complaint to her about the missing information. At least, you should have a proper way to inform the Accor member about what and where that we could enjoy out complimentary service as a royalty member. Unfortunately, your staffs have failed about this matter. Moreover, I have called to ask the front staff about Happy Hour which normally will serve at the Lobby Lounge as normal but today there are many guests thus Khun Nuch has changed to serve at Munch room which out the proper communication way to inform member in advance about this information. For me, these have shown that your staff is unprofessional training in how to provide the proper communication to the customer, especially Accor Member! Especially for Khun Nuch, in my opinion, she may need to get the proper training in how to communicate and customer service handling training. She does not know how to handle properly as me who is very upset for moving allow to get the happy hour. This affected my overall experience and left me feeling dissatisfied.
Best hotel and best service ever, especially Meng Meng and Liu. We had problem with internet connection in the room and it was promptly solved. Meng Meng was so sweet and waited till we came back from outside and informed us that the issue had been solved. Liu was very professional and upgraded our room as well. We will definitely be back to the hotel again when we are going to Chiangmai. Keep up the good work!
