We stayed in the premier family suite two bedroom ocean front. The room was great. Modern fixtures and amenities, spacious, comfortable beds with big soft pillows. Really liked the spacious bathroom with his & hers sinks. Only downfall in the room was that the streaming apps were not properly installed and ready to go on all 3 televisions. Resolved within an hour after the engineers attended so not a major issue. Wifi is not high speed but still good enough for browsing and general internet use. Buffet breakfast was average, I wouldn’t rate it excellent when compared to other resorts in the Philippines. Unfortunately, too many Korean offerings to suit the demographic of visitors. I understand why these dishes are on the menu but I personally want to experience the best of Filipino cuisine when I visit. No longanisa, tapa, taho or other favourites on the menu. The normal ala carte menu from their restaurant has a good mix of offerings and good quality. Enjoyed their pool and outdoor space. There is ample space for relaxing, lots of lounges which I like. I went down to the outdoor showers and didn’t spend more than 1 minute in there. There was a gross texture on the floor and couldn’t operate the shower. It didn’t look inviting in general, I would recommend an upgrade. My husband and I enjoyed a 1 hour massage at the spa. Very good service and facility at decent prices. The hotel itself is a little outdated in some areas but I understand it was impacted by the typhoon and is working towards upgrades. I do wish them all the best in maintaining visitation and new offerings. Last but not least, the staff are all fantastic. They make the stay very enjoyable as they are all so kind and hospitable. I can tell there has been focus on service standards and all staff were dedicated to providing recommendations, upgrades and selling add ons. From someone in the tourism and hospitality industry, well done.
The friendliest service I’ve ever had, in any hotel, anywhere around the world. All the staff are efficient and very accommodating. Jan and Raymon from the bar and restaurant provided amazing service and happy hour became a favourite! Sheena from the Reception was polite, friendly and extremely helpful. We will definitely be back to our new favourite holiday destination!
I am extremely happy with the service of movenpick and how they were able to accommodate my last minute request to put together a surprise birthday for my husband’s birthday! Ms. Leah and her team, who made sure that all our requests were made possible made the whole event successful. They even made sure that one of my request to put a projector so my husband’s parents and family can also join us for the candle blowing.
I have stayed in so many 5 star hotels around the world (lost count) and I can say the service and friendliness are outstanding in the Moevenpick Mactan. A special thanks to Chef Eric, Manager Simon and Melch and Mel at the reception. A special thanks to the staff in the breakfast room who looked so nicely after me.
The only thing 5 Star about this resort is the service we received from the Chef, Giovanni, Uneson, Raymond, and Jan. Thanks for your service. The front desk overall needs retraining. The hotel is aware of the misleading advertising. A sea view is a view of the side of the building and an ocean view is a view of the ocean. I was guaranteed an ocean view upon my return from Boracay and “rest assured” I was not given it. Lots of small errors made my trip very frustrating.
