I had high expectations of this type of accommodation and unfortunately they were not met. We had trouble checking in - the number of beds did not match the number of guests on the reservation. This was eventually sorted out. The rooms were smaller than expected and the bathroom was not great - no exhaust fan, small, the showered flooded into the bathroom if it was used at full pressure. On a positive note the staff were polite and welcoming. I have been to other lower rated hotels which were better.
5 out of 5 in wonderful and thoughtful service and hospitality. It is really the staff that makes the Movenpick Mactan stand out! Special shout out to Uneson, Noel and Lester for their attentiveness and for always being ready to offer assistance. Our gratitude also goes out to Jerry, the manager who is always keen to help out. Thank you Jerry for making the arrangements for us to stay at the Ibiza penthouse. That was a spectacular place to be at and our family really enjoyed it. Thank you all for making this a memorable time for our entire family!
I was disappointed with my stay. Firstly, I was informed that Accor status benefits were not yet available at this property, and instead, I was offered a discount on food and beverages. While my Accor status entitled me to a room upgrade, the upgraded room did not feel like an upgrade at all. The room had significant issues, particularly with ventilation. The bathroom lacked any ventilation, leading to excessive condensation. As a result, the entire room remained damp, with wet floors, walls, and even the bed covers. The air conditioning system was unable to adequately dry the room, forcing me to keep the window open for fresh air. It made for a very uncomfortable and unpleasant stay. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and responsible, and the breakfast was enjoyable.
During my stay at Mövenpick Cebu, I had mixed feelings about the experience. The standout feature was undeniably the exceptional service provided by the staff. From the moment we arrived, they were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and friendly, which made the stay feel a lot more pleasant. However, the amenities fell short of expectations. Our room had several issues that impacted our comfort: - Air conditioning problems made the room uncomfortably hot. While the staff initially tried to address it by bringing in an Iwata fan, it didn’t fully solve the problem, and there was no follow-up from them to ensure the issue was resolved. - The bathroom shower area had poor drainage, causing water to overflow despite the drain not being clogged. - No bidet was available, which is a standard feature in many accommodations at this level. 0 The bathrobes provided were too small, which felt inconvenient. - Additionally, there seemed to be miscommunication among the staff, as the porter was unaware of our room number and failed to deliver our luggage even after a follow-up at the front desk. Overall, while the staff's excellent service is commendable, the amenity issues and logistical mishaps made the stay less enjoyable than I had hoped. Mövenpick Cebu has great potential, but these operational and facility concerns need improvement to match the hospitality of their team.
