It was a long weekend and I was in my planned-spontaneous mood. I know I like to got to Movenpick because of their expansive space. I know their beach is small, as limited as it is in Shangri-La Mactan. But the space is enough to lounge around, especially that there wasn’t much people at this time of the year. The food were good. But what I enjoyed there was the billiards tables. I was playing by myself and it was fine! I didn’t stay anymore for the movie night and whatever festivities they have at night. But overall, a good experience.
We had a lovely time here! The staff was extraordinary. Special thank you for the warm hospitality to Michelle from restaurant staff, and AJ, Adrian, and Kenneth at the front desk and Forum. We appreciated the kind smiles and greeting throughout the day. The food was tasty and we also enjoyed the coffee. The beach, while a bit small, was clean and inviting.
We had a very relaxing stay. Staff service is top notch- Mark, Michelle, Rigel,Ana,Kim,Jhy,Richie,Lyka and everyone in the hotel made sure our stay is a memorable one.
My husband and I stayed here twice as part of my birthday celebration, both at the beginning and end of our trip. It had been a while since my last visit to Cebu but this was my husband’s first visit. On both visits, we had amazing views of the ocean from our balcony. The hotel itself is located near Shangri La Resort where I stayed during my last visit years ago so I wanted to try Movenpick this time. The hotel decor reminds me of resorts in Europe, with a bright white nautical vibe. They accommodated our request for a feather free room during both stays which allowed us to sleep well. All of the hotel staff were very welcoming and pleasant which made our visit so memorable. The breakfast buffet had enough variety to satisfy our Filipino comfort food cravings although we wished they served garlic fried rice like other hotel breakfast buffets in the Philippines. During breakfast, my husband asked them to sing happy birthday to me and we were so impressed but their heartfelt singing and energetic performance. Truly the highlight of our trip! We enjoyed snorkeling at the beach and saw so many fish. The pool was also refreshing although it probably will need a refresh or update soon. The beautiful ocean views from our balcony are obstructed by the nearby ferry dock and the construction of the Ibiza club. We stayed in a suite for our second stay before leaving for South Korea and felt the floor plan design made it feel cramped. The suite bathroom was updated but there was a shelf and a lamp that didn’t look like it belonged in the bathroom. It was, however, better than the blue bathroom we had in the first room we stayed in during the first part of our trip. As we were leaving for El Nido, the front desk staff were gracious enough to alert us that there was a strong typhoon that will be affecting the Visayas region. My husband quickly shifted our plans and headed to Samal Island. We’re very grateful for the front desk team for alerting us of the severe weather which salvaged the rest of our trip. We thanked them again when we returned to the hotel after staying at the Discovery Hotel in Samal Island. Thankfully there was minimal damage to the hotel after the typhoon and the staff remained hospitable despite experiencing the typhoon first hand. Overall, we would recommend this hotel to others, especially because the amazing staff can make a visit here truly memorable.
Thank you so much. The best hotel. Special thanks to Ana, Łyka, Rochelle, Richie and The. But overall everyone from the staff was just wonderful!
