Mövenpick Resort & Marine Spa Sousse

I did not stay at the resort. I just went to try cafe which was lovely and great service there. We would come here most evenings as it was relaxing. It is more up market here compared to the rest of the places in sousse. Bar staff were very polite and attentive. Out of all the cafes this was the best.

Would have rated it 3 stars out of 5 had it not been for a few exceptional staff members. Aziz at the Spanish Restaurant Bar deserves to be the manager as he is the one who works the hardest and most effectively. Rayan in the Mosaique Buffet is a young and energetic waiter who deserves recognition for doing his utmost. Ms Nadra at the Spa reception is a sincere and dependable host at the front desk who cares about the clients. The majority of the remaining staff I encountered were at the most average. Managers / 'suits' are aplenty yet unproductive, in my view. Movenpick is s well known brand so drastic action needs to be taken to save this beautiful hotel.

One of the best hotels in Sousse, clean rooms, fine restaurants, friendly staff, nice and quiet located, housekeeping lady is very friendly, and spacial thanks to Sarra very cute and very valuable . The beach is fantastic and very quiet …..

I’ve just come back from staying in this hotel. On arrival there was no porter to help me with my suitcase and had to lift my suitcase up the stairs to entrance of hotel. I thought it was supposed to be 5 star and first time experienced this very poor service. I complained to Haroun the receptionist and he apologised as the porter should have brought my suitcase into hotel. I could smell cigarettes in reception area and realised smoking is not banned indoors . You will find people smoking everywhere inside apart from the restaurants. Hotel is a paradise for smokers. I had read reviews before booking but no one had mentioned the smoking inside of hotel. There is no air conditioning in the corridors to your room or in the lift. It feels like a sauna when you are going to your room. There are more managers than staff. The staff in the Mosaique restaurant are minimal and there are many tables uncleared due to this and you might struggle to find a table to eat at as hotel is very busy. Mr Adel works at breakfast and lunchtime try and find him as he will ensure you have a table and are given the 5 star service. This man should be the manager of the restaurant as he would ensure people are seated and tables are cleared and drinks are served. His customer service is excellent and managers should learn from Mr Adel how to take care of guests. You see restaurant managers walking around they are useless. Drinks in fridge are not included as part of all inclusive. Also at the wave bar the pizza is stone baked and this isn’t include in your all inclusive as the chef will only work to make money on pizzas that are 16 inch. I had to reach out to Lubna at guest relations as I wanted to try this stone baked pizza and she managed to get the chef to make me one as part of all inclusive one time. Many thanks to Lubna she is excellent and if you have any complaints please speak to her as she sits directly across reception and ensure your complaint is addressed. At the snack bar waves look out for Kemal the waiter he is excellent and will bring you drinks and food. Tip him and he will ensure you are looked after. He should also be promoted to a manager as he goes above and beyond with guests. This snack bar opens at 11am and the time should be changed to 10am like the other snack bar. As it’s far too hot to wait until 11am to be served water or any refreshment . The food is delicious in the Mosaique restaurant and there is many choices. The lamb dish was delicious meat was cooked to perfection. The sea bass was delicious too and the fresh baked baguettes were so soft amazing. I cannot fault the food. I did the a la carte for the Spanish , food delicious and big portions. I love sushi but was not impressed with the Japanese a la carte. The tapeo bar service is very poor as I ordered a chocolate milkshake and waited 30 minutes and no one had come to me with my drink. I went back to the bar and asked where is my drink? Clearly they had forgotten to make and the manager of bar was present when I placed my order. He was useless the manager . Then they made me a strawberry milkshake and I said no I ordered chocolate there is a big difference . Bar staff need training in taking orders and managers also need training in dealing with customers that have not been served and ensuring the service is run efficiently. The location of the hotel is very good as medina is near and you can easily take a taxi outside hotel and should only cost you 3 dinars to the medina, Many Tunisian locals come to the hotel to spend days of sunbathing. There is no live shows or activities at night so you might find it boring. There is no music at pools either when you are sunbathing . The life guards Adam, Aziz, Sabr and hammadi all work very hard. You might struggle to find a sunbed but speak to these guys and they will ensure you have a sunbed. Tip them and they will look after you. The rooms are cleaned daily but you will not find your bedsheets changed daily. The bar staff and restaurant staff need to approach guests and ask them what they would like to drink and offer the 5 star service. I would not rate this hotel as 5 star as it’s self service . Overall had a nice holiday in Sousse plenty of sunshine and good food . The fresh strawberry and orange juice was delicious . When this hotel becomes non smoking indoors I will return to this hotel . Improvements need to be made within management and the following staff need to promoted to management that offer above 5 star service Mr Adel and Mr Kemal.

Special thanks to Raslen, Mohammed Khalif and Rashid who all did an absolutely amazing job. Rashid was always ready to help and was always alert and assisting us. Mohammed Khalif, the security guy at the entrance always greeted us when he saw us with a smile on his face and was happy to help when we would need advice and help. Raslen was always happy to serve us and was always friendly and cheerful even though he worked in the scorching heat of the kitchen. Even whilst working he would always try to keep a friendly conversation going and keep the customers happy and made an effort to remember the customers by their faces. Many thanks to them all.
