The hotel itself is beautiful with exceptional location and staff. Yahya in the restaurant went above and beyond. He was so kind to me and made me fresh ginger mint tea that I really enjoyed. The chef pointed out all the vegetarian options for me and gluten free for my friend and even made her something extra special. We ate breakfast lunch and dinner there. The shops in the hotel were fun to visit. The biggest problem was our room M11 was so hot. We called the front desk they said it was a central problem nothing could be done and they brought a fan and we open the window but too much noise. We were with a group and there were many people saying there’s a problem with room being too warm on Mezzanine and first floors. There was also confusion at lunch we had to pay for drinks and buffet separately so that created some issues. If the temperature was able to be corrected it would have been a perfect stay.
Our stay at Mövenpick Petra was wonderful in every detail. The hotel stands out for its excellent services, organization, and great attention to guest comfort. The room cleanliness was exceptional and truly reflects a high level of professionalism. Special thanks to the housekeeping staff member Jawad S for his polite manner and dedication to room cleanliness, and to the supervisor Hamzah F for his care, cooperation, and constant attention to guests. A truly pleasant experience, highly recommended 🌹
The location of Mövenpick Resort Petra is, without question, its biggest advantage. It is incredibly convenient — located barely 130 metres from the entrance/exit of the Petra Visitor Centre, which is ideal after a long day of walking. Unfortunately, that was the only real positive of our stay. We had booked a Superior Room, but the room felt small and cramped, especially considering the price we paid. For a hotel positioned at this level and price point, we expected a more comfortable and better-designed space. The food was another major letdown. Both breakfast and the buffet dinner we tried were average at best and definitely not worth the price. A recurring issue was that most of the food was cold — breads, meats, and hot dishes lacked warmth and flavor. The dishes were bland, and some of the desserts tasted old and slightly off. Overall, the quality simply did not match what one would expect from Mövenpick. Prices across the hotel were extremely high, even for basic items like a sandwich and coffee. What made this more disappointing is that we stayed in other premium destinations in Jordan — including the Dead Sea and Wadi Rum — where prices were noticeably more reasonable and the quality was far superior. Given how much we paid for the stay, we genuinely expected much more from Mövenpick. While the location is unbeatable for visiting Petra, the room comfort, food quality, and overall value for money fell short. Sadly, the experience was disappointing and did not live up to the brand’s reputation.
The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance of the entrance to the famous Treasury. The hotel was clean and all the staff were very attentive. Especially the housekeeper supervisor Hamsa and our room attendant, Yaha. We requested several special items and they were delivered immediately. I would highly recommend staying at the Movenpick Petra.
The hotel is steps from the Petra Visitor Center entrance. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. The bar is friendly and cozy. Ismail, the floor manager, made sure all of our needs were met. His cleaning crew, in particular, Abdullah and Firas, kept everything neat and tidy. A wonderful hotel that is within walking distance to shopping and restaurants.
