Fantastic Resort
Staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Excellent location with some good restaurants within walking distance. I loved everything about this hotel! The staff was incredibly welcoming, and the atmosphere was warm and comfortable. A truly enjoyable stay!

Luxury prices, cheap experience
Mövenpick Petra is a hotel that can only described by its compromises. The rooms are ovens with thermostats that let you enter any temperature but leave the room at 24°C anyway. The rooms are nicely appointed, with universal wall outlets, but are so hot that you won't want to spend time there. Public spaces are poorly optimized, with most lounges and restaurants feeling crowded with 20 people in them. Jordan is expensive, and the Mövenpick Petra is no exception. Get ready to have drinks pushed on you at every opportunity, or for them to be priced like you'd expect from an American luxury hotel. The food is unremarkable, though you'd never guess by the pricing. One thing that this hotel is objectively good at is the location. It is literally across the street from the Petra visitors center. Which is very helpful, because you'll be tired when you leave and don't have to worry about a taxi. Unfortunately, the hotel itself provides limited respite from your long walk in the sun since it's 24°C 24/7. If you're going to Petra, you will probably stay here. But don't expect to enjoy it.

Gorgeous hotel in the perfect Petra location
Situated a stone's throw from the entrance to the Petra national park it is THE perfect spot to stay while visiting Petra. The atrium with its gorgeous chandelier and the bar are beautiful. Our room was nice, although not spectacular. The breakfast buffet was excellent with lots of choices and some good local foods as well (which is what I always chose to eat). We had a good dinner in the bar after a long day in the national park. The service in that bar was friendly and good and the menu was really quite extensive for a bar. The Happy Hour prices were good as well, "Chocolate hour" was a nice afternoon treat set in the beautiful atrium area. Service we very good. As it was "winter" heat was the only choice in the HVAC in the room (they turn off the A/C in the winter months), they kindly offered to bring us a room fan right away (which they did). It was a nice standing fan that really helped me keep cool and was useful for quickly drying our sox and undies that we had washed out in the sink!
