Used this hotel for a 4 day, 3 night stay to explore Berlin. From the minute we walked through the doors, we tell we had chosen well. The staff were all friendly and helpful and even placed us and our travelling party in adjacent rooms. Everything was immaculate whilst the bar was staffed by knowledgeable people. Breakfast offered a vast range of foods to suit all for 4 hours per morning and the rooms were full equipped with everything that was needed. Only minor complaint was that it was a double bed but with 2 single duvets and the pillows were hardly worthy of being called pillows. An excellent hotel, would definitely recommend and use again
The hotel was very good and we enjoyed our stay. The location is fabulous for the major attractions. There were just a few minor issues. The hotel needs a bit of renewal in the rooms. The fridge didn’t work properly in one of our rooms and the issue wasn’t addressed despite this being pointed out on the first day. One of the lifts was out of order for our entire stay. The glass bricks to the bathroom gives light seepage into the bedroom. However, these issues wouldn’t stop me staying there again.
I stayed at the Mövenpick Berlin hotel for two nights in the middle of September this year and had a very good experience. I was acknowledged as an Accor ALL Gold member and given an upgrade to a fantastic premium room with an Amazing futuristic interior, especially the bath tub in the middle of the room was a cool feature and the free standing television with about 150+ TV-channels was also very cool as well. I got a room on the top floor just as I had requested in advanced, far away from the elevator too, just as per my request as well. The staff, from check in the reception, to the restaurant staff and the bartenders and even the cleaners were all very attentive and polite and even the cleaning staff helped with the luggage and showed the way to the room (this is quite a big hotel) which I was very impressed with, which definately is up to the very high Accor standards and the Mövenpick experience that I have encountered in other Mövenpick locations elsewhere in the past. The location is very nearby the Potzdamer Platz, however you have to change S-Bahn train one station to Anhalter Bahnhof to get to the hotel, but there is an elevator in the middle of the platform that takes you right up to maybe 50 meters from the hotel entrance. Otherwise a short walk to Potzdamer Platz, a little longer but not so diffficult walk to other Berlin hotspots such as the Mall of Berlin, the Reichstag, Checkpoint Charlie, etc. It surprises me that this is only a four star rated hotel and not a five star rated hotel as many other Mövenpick hotels are, but that is just one observation. The hotel is packed with much of cool design features such as cool statues, paintings and other art features and has a wonderful athmosphere. I felt very good staying here. The WiFi Connection was impeccable, fast and stable, however you had to reconnect every 12 or 24 hours, which was somewhat anyoing. Also no connectivity such as Chromecast built in the stand alone movable on wheels big flat screen Samsung brand TV. The hotel is built in 2004 and there were some minor scratches and wear and tear stains and stuff that in my opinion could have been taken better care of and although I was very pleased with my stay at the Mövenpick Berlin hotel I must make an accurate evaluation and therefore mention that the cleaning unfortunately was not up to standard, there were unfortunately a lot of dust here and there and the floor and spaces beside the bed on the floor was very dirty and seemed like it hadn't been cleaned for quite a while. However, over all a very enjoyable stay in a very cool and stylish hotel, I really loved it and would definately stay here again.
Lovely hotel however this whole experience has sadly been ruined by the fact that our deposit has not been returned. Upon check in we were asked to pay an €100 deposit which we paid with no issue on card. We left the room exactly how it was found with nothing damaged and have not received our deposit back after 3 weeks. I have called the hotel (leading to my phone bill being racked up), emailed the hotel, called customer care and emailed customer care yet no progress has been made. My emails have not had a reply and all the phone calls have resulted in someone saying “we will look into it” and then nothing coming as a result from it. This is very frustrating and an unfortunate end to our holiday.
I did not have a nice stay. The first staff and the person that checked us in where the only ones that were friendly. I am an Accor platinum member but I was not treated like one. This was my worst experience in travel. I believe it's not always about how beautiful a hotel is. It's always about how well you were treated and how welcome the persons make you feel. I did not get a welcome drink. I paid for all my drinks. I requested for early check in but had to wait 6 hours for the official check in time and also an extra 10 mins. And while waiting, even though they are not obliged to give me early check in, they could have try to be a little nice. Even a simple smile would have made a difference.
