First the positives: This is a nice hotel with friendly staff. The breakfast is good. But a little expensive. Served in an adjacent pavilion (we were informed that the restaurant was under renovation!). Nice and big rooms. There are 3 chargers for electric cars, The negatives. We had three rooms, of which they had apparently forgotten to wipe the dust off in two of the rooms! Charging for electric cars is in the underground garage at €17/day. And only one out of 3 chargers could be started to charge our cars. The staff knew nothing about it the charging facilities. Which they regretted. When paying for the stay in the garage, you have to pay in a machine that only takes cash. Which we didn't have enough of. After inquiring at the reception, we were told that we could pay there. Maybe it is an idea to put a sign on the machine about that option? In terms of price, the hotel is on the slightly expensive end considering that it is a rather basic hotel. We used the hotel to stay in transit and will choose another one next time.
The hotel didn’t live up to its billing. First, the positives. The room was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable. The room was large and very quiet, overlooking gardens ( which it transpired was a cemetery which could explain the lack of noise). The breakfast was very comprehensive. The bar was comfortable and the bar staff friendly and helpful. We ate in the bar one night and the food ( calves liver) was truly excellent, as was my wife’s salad. The negatives. It is clearly a business hotel, and as such was soulless. I had been in dialogue with the hotel and at no time was I told that the restaurant was completely closed. The breakfast and dinners were served in a semi- permanent marquee, where the wooden floor bounced the contents of your table when anyone walked past. It completely lacked any atmosphere. The hotel advertises cycles, subject to availability. I had requested these. On arrival I was told there were none available as they were all out. On our second day I was told that all of the bikes had been taken out of service awaiting replacement and the replacements hadn’t arrived. Two conflicting and incompatible stories. There is plenty of free parking at or near the hotel so no need to pay for the underground parking. The hotel is not in the centre of Munster, and as Munster is such a vibrant thriving university city I would prefer to stay in the centre in future.
Location of this hotel is great - easy to navigate to by car. Surface car park was - predictably - chaotically full with vans, coaches etc, but underground car park had loads of spaces (but it's pricey!) with lift access direct to reception Check-in staff person was lovely, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was in a marquee (whilst they refit some of the main restaurant) but no worse for it, with very good staff, great food, lots of choice and well-replenished Room was....absolutely fine, good air-con, lovely bathroom, decent WiFi, good TV (watched some Roland Garros tennis) really can't fault it Location - yes, it's a very pleasant lakeside walk to the centre, nearly all car-free, a very nice bonus on a nice warm evening Totally recommend this hotel
Very friendly staff, great breakfast with amazing breads and lot of cheeses and hams and great coffee. Located near a lake and park, we had very nice walks. Dog friendly. The restaurant is also very good. minor down is The wifi in our room only worked in the bathroom. Close to the Old city.
The hotel is situated just of the main ring road and is located in a pleasant wooded area. The sorroundings are nice. There is limited free parking, however the parking garage has space (at a price). Very spacious reception area - ample room for social distancing. Friendly and forthcoming staff. The room was very lovely and spacious and the beds are equipped with fantastic mattresses. The restaurant is worth a visit and the icecream dessert worth trying. Check-out was quick and easy.
