The St. Paulus Cathedral, the largest church in Westphalia, is the nucleus of the city dating back to the 9th century. Many years later, in the 13th century, today's Gothic building was added. Thousands of people visit the Cathedral every day, enjoying the church's art in one of the guided tours.
The entrance area on the North side, holding the Cathedral's treasury, is the main attraction for visitors. Do not miss the ringing of the astronomic clock of 1542 (daily at noon, weekends and on holidays at 12.30 pm).
