Diving options in the Maldives

Our Maldives dive centre offers discovery dives for new divers, fun dives for regular divers, and PADI courses for those who wish to improve their diving abilities or get certified. We at Mövenpick Resort Kuredhivaru Maldives also offer night dives that will invite you to explore the breathtaking life under water like you’ve never seen it before. Uthuru Maa Haa (Huivani Thila)

One side of this dive site is a gentle slope and the other one is a wall with overhangs of various sizes. Top reef starts from 12 meters and is a good variation of hard corals. Various marine life can be found here, such as fusilier, batfish, tuna, shrimp, stingray and with a luck shark and cobia. This Maldives dive site is recommended for experienced divers.

Christmas Rock

This dive site name was given because the rock looks like the Christmas tree. With a different depth levels which start from 14 meters to 30 meters, this site is a perfect choice for advanced divers looking for a diving session in the Maldives. Various marine life can be found here such as colourful reef fish, schools of blue lined snappers, eagle rays and sleeping around the rock, whitetip reef sharks.

Orimas Thila

Amazing place for divers who love sharks and large marine animals. Strong currents are common for this place and, thus, it is recommended for advanced divers. The site is perfect to see sharks, eagle rays, stingrays and for schooling big eye travellers and barracudas.

Coral Caves

Located in the Northern part of Noonu Atoll, the reef starts from 4 meters and goes down to 30 meters. It is a wall with many overhangs of various sizes. Expect to see reef fish, lionfish, moray eels, stingrays, occasionally eagle rays and various sharks - a beautiful diving experience for guests wanting to make the most out of their holiday in the Maldives!

Bodulhaimendhoo

It is a diverse dive wall in the Maldives that starts from 8 meters all the way down to more than 30 meters. Fascinating topographic dive with numerous huge overhangs starts from 18 meters and below. The walls are fully covered by colourful soft corals. Explore overhangs to find stingray and sharks sleeping inside. Occasionally Napoleon wrasse can be spotted here too.

Minaavaru Kurolhi

It is a large thila that offers the opportunity for divers to explore the wall with overhangs. Lobsters, moray eels, shrimps and lionfish can be found hiding inside. Occasionally eagle rays, stingrays and sharks can be seen passing by. This site is definitely worth a dive during your holiday in the Maldives.

Genmendhoo

This dive site is good for both beginners and experienced divers as well. It offers an amazing mix of hard and soft corals, gentle slopes and walls with overhangs. Shrimps, moray eels, lionfish or stingrays can be found sleeping inside. Occasionally whitetip reef sharks and Napoleon fish also pass by.

Maafaru Shipwreck

Relatively small but attractive, this shipwreck is located nearby the Maafaru island and lies shallow. Depth starts from 5 meters on top of the ship and up to 13 meters on the bottom. Shrimps, moray eels and glass fish can be easily spotted inside. Sandy bottom around the wreck attracts stingray. Coral gardens start right behind the shipwreck; a hidden treasure worth exploring during your diving adventures in the Maldives.

Marine presentation

The reef of the Maldivian islands represents one of the richest marine ecosystems in the world. Guests who are interested in learning more about the area's underwater life are invited to attend a weekly marine-life presentation by our resident marine biologist, offered once a week. You can also enjoy a snorkelling excursion with our marine biologist, a unique way to discover the underwater world of the Maldives. Informative talks also take place prior to some activities, such as the dolphin and turtle safari.
