I must say, I have thing for the airport hotels. I don't know why, just do. This was very good airport hotel. It had nice bar, where I had few beers and a nice restaurant where I had nice dinner. Nice view to the airport. It was little hard to find while walking from the airport at first time. They had also shuttlebuss, but didn't know that.
This hotel is so dated. The carpets have stains, the beds are hard, the furniture is worn out the desk is all scratched up. No air movement in the room and the thermostat did not change anything. I used to come to this hotel 23 years ago on business trips when i lived in Europe, and it hasn’t changed a bit. Also really frustrated this morning as i had very heavy luggage, was on the first floor, looking for the restrooms. There are no restrooms by the restaurant, you have to go down two sets of stairs (no elevators to this area) in order to use a restroom…lugging your luggage. Very frustrating and not accommodating at all to individuals that have limited mobility. Kind of shocking in this day and age.
This complaint is with regards to Casino Manager Mr Joe Joffrey and Bartender Mr Andie Mr Joe Joffrey in the name of customer service instructed Mr Andie to not to offer us drinks And upon asking the name of the manager Mr Andie refused to give the name of the manager upon repeated requests I have traveled over 20 countries and have visited at least 100+ casinos but have never come across such a person or such an attitude. Only after a couple of drinks he instructed Mr Andie not to serve us drinks?? I mean this is the most ridiculous thing a casino manager should do!!! I want to understand why this has happened?? Is this because we are Indians?? As I don’t think there was any incident which would warrant such a decision!!! I fail to understand why Mr Joewould give out such instructions for guests of your hotel. We are in-house guests at your hotel and have spent our hard earned money and come with entire family ( including parents ) to stay at your hotel, and cannot be ridiculed like this!! I demand an apology from him in writing for such a ridiculous decision . As this has made me felt very embarrassed , and this will have repercussions as I will forward this to the various departments of Tourism of Indian Governemnt and to the various private Indian Tour Operators like SOTC and Kesari Tours. As I feel we as Indians are unwanted in this casino and in this Hotel. I also demand an immediate response to my complaint and give a 24 hr notice to get an reply and an apology in person in front of everybody from Mr Joe Joffrey for refusing me and my family to enjoy our vacation. And demand a compensation as 100% refund of our hotel staying costs in your prestigious establishment . And pls note I am writing this email immediately after your manager Mr Joe thought that we ( Me my brother and my wife) could not have drinks further as supposedly we’ve had too many drinks according to Mr Joe. I call this racism and stereotyping !!!! Rgds Vivek Agarwal Rooms Nos 1101, 1102, 901,902 & 1001
This is an upscale hotel near the airport, and I enjoyed staying here. I selected this hotel due to its location, as I was arriving after an overnight flight from America. The room was clean and comfortable with a view of the airport. The bed was of medium firmness for a good night's sleep, not hard or overly soft. There was a problem with the airport shuttle, which was not marked with the Mövenpick name so we did not recognize it. This led to us getting a Taxi after a 40 minute wait, which led to the Taxi driver being unhappy, as he waited a long time to get a 5 minute fare, which is not supposed to happen. The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to the Blandonnet Shopping Center, which has a Coop grocery and a Tram stop for easy access to the rest of town. The hotel breakfast buffet was the best we had on our trip, it was topnotch & worth the price. Huge selection of breakfast items, friendly courteous staff with an Omelette Chef and a one-touch coffee/hot chocolate machine. Overall a great stay except for the shuttle issue (the next day the shuttle had a magnetic sign on the side which read Mövenpick). I will stay here again if flying into Geneva.
The hotel itself is ok, although the whole building is from the late 70ies. Located within a 15min walk from the airport, however the free shuttle is available on request. The lobby is nice, the breakfast was decent and well presented, the staff were all helpful and kind, with positive attitude, check-in/out was correct. The room I had was quite small and the bathroom was tiny. TV & Wifi worked well, the bed was comfortable. There was also an iron, safe deposit box and a fridge available in the room. The amenities were on request. I didn't like the towels which were not crispy white nor pressed. The pillows were too soft for me and despite being on the 12th floor heavy traffic noise could be heard from the highway below from 5 a.m. The corridors and the floor together with room doors need an urgent refurbishment, they are more than 30 or so years old, with ugly walls and stains on the carpet. Overall a quick decent stay, as the room and sleeping quality were acceptable. Be prepared to pay over 200 CHF for any decent hotel in Geneva.
