Bimhuis

The Bimhuis was founded in 1973 and until the summer of 2004 was located at Oude Schans. In January 2005, the ultramodern music venue opened its doors at the present location, featuring state-of-the-art technical and acoustic solutions for impeccable sound. The concert hall seats more than 200 people. Besides jazz music, the Bimhuis complex hosts a restaurant, late-night bar and a sun terrace by the water. The stage is located in front of a large glass wall, treating the public to a spectacular view of the historic Amsterdam city centre.

Stedelijk Museum

The Stedelijk Museum is an international institution in Amsterdam mostly dedicated to modern and contemporary art and design from the early 20th to 21st centuries. Pieces by artists such as Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol, Marlene Dumas, Karel Appel, Vincent van Gogh, Marc Chagall and Henri Matisse are on display.

You can buy an e-ticket in advance, which will give you access to the fast lane without the need to queue for tickets. Online tickets are not specific for the day and are valid for a year.

National Maritime Museum

The National Maritime Museum, shows how the Dutch culture has been shaped by the sea. Stimulating, interactive exhibitions allow visitors to explore 500 years of maritime history. Attractive object exhibitions show the best of the famous collection. There are special exhibitions for children, including See you in the Golden Age and The tale of the whale.

Rijksmuseum Amsterdam

The unique status gained by the Rijksmuseum in the world throughout the centuries, stems not only from the possession of many masterpiece paintings of Dutch and world art. Along the masterworks like Rembrandt's “De Nachtwacht” (1642), several paintings by Vermeer, van Dyck and Jan Steen, the museum has a truly exceptional collection of Asian art, antique objects of the material Dutch culture as well as prints, drawings and classic photography.

Anne Frank House Amsterdam

This house-turned-museum on the Prinsengracht was the hiding place of Anne Frank, a Jewish girl in exile during World War II, who wrote her world-famous diary here. Open daily from 9.00 am to 9.00 pm and until 10.00 pm on Saturdays. Avoid having to queue by buying e-tickets online for a specific time.

Van Gogh Museum

This museum, which opened in 1973, hosts the largest collection of van Gogh paintings in the world including 200 paintings, 400 drawings and 700 letters. Sunflowers (1889) and Bedroom in Arles (1888) form part of this collection. The museum also has sculptures by Auguste Rodin and paintings by Paul Gauguin, Édouard Manet, Claude Monet and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Learn about the artist's development throughout his life and compare him to other artists from the 19th century. It is located at Museum Square close to the Stedelijk Museum, the Rijksmuseum and the Concertgebouw. In 2013, the museum was the second-most visited museum in the Netherlands and the 35th-most visited art museum in the world.

Concertgebouw Amsterdam

This beautiful building is one of the landmarks of Museum Square. The concert hall is well-known worldwide along with its leading house ensemble, the Royal Concert Orchestra.

De Nieuwe Kerk Amsterdam

Amsterdam's De Nieuwe Kerk is renowned for its much-discussed exhibitions.

The church is also known as the place where the inauguration of the Head of State takes place as well as the national Remembrance Day service on 4 May.

In 1980, Queen Beatrix was officially inaugurated in De Nieuwe Kerk. On 2 February 2002 the wedding of the Prince of Orange and then-princess Máxima took place here.

Hermitage Amsterdam

It is open daily from 10.00 am until 5.00 pm, Wednesdays until 8.00 pm. Closed on 25 December and 27 April.
