About 42 Degrees South

Tasmania is known for producing some spectacular wines, and 42 Degrees South is no exception. Produced by Frogmore Creek Winery in the Coal River Valley Wine Region, this subtle sparkling wine is named 42˚S after the central latitude of Tasmania. Things to Do in Hobart this Winter

  • Salamanca Place and the Salamanca Markets. Winter is the perfect time of year for a romantic stroll through Hobart's famous weekend market. 
  • Museum of Old and New Art (Mona).  A 'must visit' in Hobart at any time of year, Mona also offers three underground levels filled with a stunning array of art to explore on rainy days.
  • Aurora Australis – the Southern Lights. The best time to see the magical Tasmanian aurora in Hobart is during the winter months, particularly June to August the days are shorter.
  • Warm up with a nip of Tasmanian Whisky. Tassie's growing spirits scene is world renowned. If you're short on time, our top favourites include Lark Distillery, Sullivan's Cove and Hartshorn Distillery.
