ITU World Triathlon Hamburg

Altonale

Altonale is the largest cultural district festival in Hamburg. Visitors can look forward to music, sport, art and culinary highlights during this festival. For over two weeks, several places througout the city will be characterized by literature, film, art, theatre and music. The highlight of the Altonale is a street festival at the end. Lion King musical

"The Lion King” is a musical based on the 1994 Disney animated film of the same name with music by Elton John and lyrics by Tim Rice along with the musical score created by Hans Zimmer with choral arrangements by Lebo M. The musical features actors in animal costumes as well as giant puppets.

Christmas markets

During the festive season, the city of Hamburg invites you to several Christmas markets. You can marvel at Santa's sleight in the sky at the historic Rathausmarkt Christmas market daily at 4.00 pm, 6.00 pm and 8.00 pm. Enjoy great views of the bustling Christmas market from the top of the historic big wheel at the Christmas market along the Alster.

A colourful and pleasant parade through the festive and decorated city centre takes place every advent Saturday.

Port birthday

Each year the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg celebrates the birthday of its harbour. More than a million domestic and foreign visitors come annually to the maritime people's festival of superlatives and let themselves be inspired in the heart of Hamburg by ships from all over the world. "Alstervergnügen"

This is an event with a tradition and a celebration for the entire city. Everybody visiting the inner Alster during the Alstervergnügen festivities may expect a mixed bag of amusements including a family and cultural programme on various stages, exciting shows on the water, a dance floor, cabaret and street theatre, a Ferris wheel and fireworks in the evening.
