Nice Stay

It was a nice stay. Just bear in mind your experience will be different than mine and so on. To try to give full review and maybe help other travellers about booking, these are my thoughts and own experience. The hotel is good, the entire team was nice, reception, restaurant, bar, breakfast, housekeeping, all of them were helpful and polite. Overall the hotel is nice and all okay. I was there on last week of June, or beginning of the summer, maybe this has some differences, but either way and by my experience I’d probably stay again. The Reception team was really good and have helped since the start by booking taxi from/to airport before arrival which takes about 45min from airport, check in was smoothly, they were direct and simple, polite, the way it should be and was okay, same goes for the check out. No problems at all. Breakfast, the entire team was nice and nothing to complain about, loads of options and good food for you to start your day. Restaurant and Bar of the hotel, the team that served my table was very friendly and helpful, specially the guys named Roshi, Andri, and Francis at the bar, they were very friendly and polite, the food was good, and the price was okay, not pricy at all for being in the hotel. You have other restaurants outside hotel and nearby that also serve good food. Rooms are good, clean and comfortable. The main pool, it was nice and worked everything well while my time there, as a note, it’s not in the Movenpick hotel but is within the complex as the Lura resort, like a shared space, not ideal but basically from the main reception you will have to walk about 5min or so, not big deal. But in my pov it’s kind of downside as the hotel itself has a lot of area which could build its own pool and would be much better. For the beach, from reception just over 5 min walking and you are there, they have everything you need on the beach without extra charges, all was okay while I used, the only thing is that the sun beds are not well maintained and bit of sandy but either way you are there to relax and just enjoy it. The water is shallow and nice beach to relax. The inside pool, no issues at all, worked fine. Gym needs a little of maintenance but is okayish. Haven’t used their spa. I hope this all helps.

Nice hotel, nice location, good restaurant, not as good for loyalty rules which are not considered

I'm a loyal customer (ALL Classic member) and also an employee of the Accor group, but unfortunately my stay was disappointing. I wasn't allowed to use my loyalty points to pay my extra expences, (dinner) and the 15% Heartist discount (which is company policy) was not applied, even after presenting all necessary documentation. The staff seemed uninformed and unhelpful. Positives: excellent restaurant (great food and service), spacious and clean room with minibar and a nice selection of snacks. Negatives: poor attention to Accor policies, and the pool was dirty underneath with loose tiles, potentially dangerous. Very disappointed, especially as someone who is part of the Accor family.

Durres but far from the city

This is unbelievable what is going on in this hotel. I arrived to the hotel and find out that they canceled my reservation which was made few months ago. They said that meantime the price changed and they cannot accept my previous price. At the moment there was nothing I could do as they refused to check me in. I had to agree for higher price as it was my holiday and did not want to argue as there was no manager which was decisionmaker. This was unfortunately wrong decision was the hotel is the worst I have ever visited. They do not honor Accor programs so don't count on any benefits. The beach was dirty, there is nothing interesting around the hotel, no restaurants or shops so you are mostly forced to eat in the hotel. There is a huge problem in the spa area as there is a big mold on the walls. You can smell it when entering this area. During my stay they did nothing about it but only covered the wal by artificial flowers.

Not recommended absolutely it’s noT 5 stars not ACCOR NOT MOVENPICK

As soon as you arrive at the hotel, you feel it. The reception is not five-star quality—you feel it right away. You are not welcome. She tells us, “You don’t have a reservation,” and I show her the confirmation. For one night out of two nights, she accepts the confirmation from the app, and then says, “For the remaining two nights, there is no room for you,” even though you have a confirmation. The hotel manager is sending me messages through the receptionist, saying that there are no rooms available for us to extend our stay. It’s true that the outdoor pool is not working, and the sea is far from the hotel. I wrote to the hotel, as well as to the Accor chain and the Mövenpick chain, but all of them distanced themselves from the case. I think that a hotel chain like Accor should take responsibility for my case and compensate me. Luckily, I had a car so I could go somewhere else; it took us all night to make alternative plans. It’s true that the kitchen is clean and the guys there make tasty food, but apart from that, it’s a shame about the trip there.

Could be amazing, but it falls rather short in too many ways

Negatives - booking cancelled without my knowledge 10 days before my trip; a second email address was available, and no attempt to follow-up was actioned, despite me emailing in March asking to prepay the accommodation- they knew I was definitely coming - phone lines don't work and was laughed at, to my face, by the reception manager who proceeded to hand me a business card after crossing out the landline number; this is highly embarrassing, irritating and rude, and Accor who run Mövenpick hotels didn't know either - emails not responded to, even though phone lines don't work - email from Accor Customer Care ignored - charged over twice as much for a downgraded room; i really had no option but to accept the increase and the offer of a comp night and breakfast until I could contact Accor after my stay - took over three hours to check in, with staff speaking about me in front of me in Albanian, which they were aware I didn't speak, which is outrageously unprofessional - no pool available and blithely informed that "we have a beach." Super, for someone who has a severe shellfish allergy. I was not informed of this until I asked how to get there - incidentals not charged on departure, nor have I received an invoice. The process was slow and laborious, and I had already offered a French couple a lift to the airport after the taxi they booked with the front desk was not actually booked, so I had to leave - loudly playing football in the outdoor bar area until 10pm, followed by cheering and excessive noise and fireworks; the hotel seems to cater primarily to Kosovar visitors, and the remaining guests just make up the numbers - Gold member Accor status not recognised and had to request my complimentary drink three times before being issued it - food in the restaurant is often served tepid, and the team seems to forget that something has been ordered. Waited 10 minutes for a pot of mayonnaise, by which time my warm food was stone cold Positives - Fiona came to the hotel on my day of arrival to speak with me after the mess that was made of my reservation, but really gave me no option but to accept her offer or go elsewhere - her actions were appreciated, but an official complaint has been lodged with Accor regarding my booking, this shouldn't take away from her abilities and experience in dealing with the issues - Housekeeping Manager Stella, who helped me locate a lost car key and was incredibly generous with her time and suggestions - the team is friendly enough, especially the barman and the night teceptionist, but they lack experience, knowledge, and a level of professionalism expected of a Mövenpick Hotel, the properties I have stayed in over the past twelve months - Zagreb, Tallinn, Novi Sad and Sarajevo, are far superior - the property is beautifully maintained by housekeeping and maintenance - the beach bar is great for a relaxing evening I am awaiting resolution of my official complaint with Accor Customer Care, but I have to consider my options carefully before booking here again. It won't be for a while as I have urgent medical issues to deal with, but, considering my loyalty to Accor for years now, I probably would. Changes definitely have to be made, though the teams' experience will grow, but attitude and attention are not something that can be taught.
