Wonderful breakfast. Helpful staff. Only drawback was very minimally functioning air conditioning. I would like to preface that I actually don't like extreme air conditioning but it was a very hot week in Frankfurt and it took 6 hours for room to cool to a bearable temperature. We asked for a different room and staff was helpful but there was no difference. When housekeeping cleaned room during the day they would turn off ac and then we had to start from scratch again when returning to room. Strangely the bathroom floor tiles were heated and could not be turned off. Would be ideally cozy in winter but rooms are very uncomfortable in summer. Conveniently located across the street from Skyline Mall.
If you want to stay at this hotel, don't prepay through Expedia! They don't seem to have the capability to check whether the room is prepaid or not and charged my card again after I checked out. When I queried it as soon as I realised it on Sunday, they left me waiting until Tuesday without the decency of at least saying they're looking into it, causing unnecessary stress and put a real dampen on the holiday. And when they finally refunded it, I got less than what they charged since the conversion rate has changed since. Thankfully it wasn't much, but considering it's due to their error, really not happy to spend even a penny extra on the hotel. On the bright side, the hotel's location is great with good transport links and right across a shopping centre where we could get essentials. Also, our room was quiet and clean. The pillows, however, were thin and you'd need at least three to support your head.
Great room, great location, great bartender, great front desk officer Alejandra. Some improvement required on breakfast as the food choices are very limited. Early check in and late check out are possible with Accor accont status. Hotel is quiet. Street is clean and not crowded. Only 3 mins walk to reach U bahn line.
The Messe Fair had too many people and the restaurants all served the same food, and on a sunday at 15:00 i could NOT walk anymore nor face more people., so i walked across the road and ate at the quiet restaurant. Lovely. I ordered a caesar salad, coke and coffee and enjoyed the sunny street view….. in PEACE. Nothing irritated me …. The salad was HUGE btw, and very tasty. I only wish there was availability during the creativeworld fair, i would stay here as it is literally across the road from the MESSE ENTRANCE. Also a taxi stand right outside
We slept at the Mövenpick hotel in Frankfurt for 1 night at the 9th of december. At check in i did not feel a warm welcome. We arrived early in the morning. So i did not expect our room to be ready yet. So we asked for our luggage to be held untill check in time. At first the receptionist took our suitcase and took it behind the counter, when he came back we wanted to give our backpacks also, but he basically ignored us and helped the next customer, which made us wait for 10 more minutes. In my opinion not ok, since he was not done with helping us yet. Afterwards when we got back arround 14:30, i asked if i could check in now. But the receptionist replied that the rooms are not ready untill 15:00. He did not check my reservation or my name nothing. Totally no interest in me as a customer. As a loyal member of accor, i expected to get atleast a personal welcome by name and maybe offered a glass of water, while we wait for 30 more minutes. At 15:00 we checked in, i asked for my luggage back, and they couldnt find it. After 20 minutes the luggage was finaly found. When we entered the room, i could tell, the room was not cleaned thoroughly. The smell at the entrance was not entirely fresh and there was still items on the floor next to the bed that should have been cleaned. Besides this, the bed itself was comfy and clean. The heating also worked really well. The bathroom was also nice and clean. There were some issues with the water still pouring from the tap in the bath tub, while the shower was on. I did not experience a loss of pressure from the showerwater, but mayb it should be looked at, since its a waste of water. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, because we thought the 20€ per person was to high for a roomrate of €70 per night. There is also a mall next door, which offers a good fresh breakfast for less then half the price. After breakfast we went back to the room to rest, when at arround 10:30 am we were disturbed by the cleaning staff, opening our roomdoor. After realizing the mistake, the door was closed immediately with apologies. But still a rather strange experience. Normally i do not stay at the Mövenpick hotel, but rather at Novotel or Mercure. For once i wanted to try the Mövenpick to see how the room and service would be here, since i expected it to be a grade above Novotel and Mercure. However i was quite disappointed with what i received in service. Although only a one day experience, i cannot recommend staying at this hotel. The location of the hotel is good and the price also. But the staff really let me down here.
