I stayed at Mövenpick Hotel Karachi from 11–13 December 2025 as an ALL – Accor Live Limitless Platinum member, following long-haul international travel. Unfortunately, despite some strong frontline service, the overall experience fell far below the standard expected of an international Mövenpick property. To be clear, lounge and restaurant staff were courteous, attentive, and professional. Their efforts were appreciated and reflected well on them individually. However, the rooms operation and overall management handling were seriously deficient. On arrival, we were allocated an unclean room, requiring immediate room changes after an exhausting journey. Promised Platinum recognition and welcome standards were not delivered until the second evening. The most serious issue occurred overnight on our second night, when personal comfort items belonging to my wife were removed from our locked room without explanation. Despite repeatedly informing staff that the items were not in the room, there were persistent overnight phone calls and an intrusive room entry at approximately 04:00, involving additional staff. This caused severe distress and resulted in complete loss of sleep. The matter remained unresolved for over 11 hours and was only resolved once senior management intervened the following day, at which point the items were located quickly. Management later acknowledged multiple service failures and waived the cost of the two nights. While this was noted, it does not remedy the fact that both nights were already irreparably disrupted, nor does it address the invasion of privacy and emotional distress caused. As a result, we felt unable to continue staying in branded hotels locally and left to stay with friends. This is not a position a Platinum guest should ever be placed in. In summary: frontline hospitality was good, but room standards, overnight procedures, and management response were not fit for an international premium brand.
The staff at the Mövenpick try hard to provide good service. Housekeeping, reception, restaurants, bellhop etc, I have celiac disease, which comes with some strict dietary restrictions. I spoke to a restaurant manager who was knowledgeable (not everyone is, even in my home country of Germany), and was able to make recommendations and speak to restaurant staff to ensure I was safe. I ended up at La Mamma, where again staff was very kind and did a good job. The sauce on the gluten-free penne was surprisingly delicious, even if a vegan Caesar salad is more than lettuce and olives. The room itself was largely fine, although the fixtures in the shower have some corrosion and the wall hairdryer doesn’t work,

This is the first ever hotel in the world where you are not allowed to sit beside the swimming pool if you are not swimming and are not in swimming shorts. I was just sitting to get some sunshine. I travelled all the way from UK to get some sunshine. The most stupid thing you find in a hotel that claims to be an international chain
