I stayed at the Mövenpick with family during wedding season. Although we weren’t there long, staff at breakfast remembered our names and orders which made us feel very at home. The ambiance and food were delightful, I wish we could have stayed even longer. Sajid Ali was wonderful and made sure we had everything we need. Mövenpick is a good option for English speakers who want to visit Karachi.
My stay on 4 January, arriving on flight 9P-675, was extremely disappointing. Despite landing at around 11:30 PM, the hotel’s protocol representative kept us waiting 45 minutes at the airport with no proper explanation. His behavior was unprofessional, and he wrongly told other guests that I had asked him to prioritize me, which was embarrassing and untrue. Check-in was inefficient, with staff unable to connect me to member services. I was assigned Room 315, described as a “complimentary upgrade,” but it was in poor condition—dirty linen, litter, old furniture, and inconvenient electrical sockets. To make matters worse, laundry service refused to accept clothes, claiming they were out of capacity. This experience did not justify premium pricing or five-star claims.
I’m visiting Karachi for the first time for a friends wedding. My stay at the Movenpick has been a very pleasant one. Their breakfast has a great variety of dishes and you’ll never be bored regardless of how long or short your stay may be. The staff overall is very friendly and helpful, in particular Sajid Ali who has helped ensure that I’ve got my caffeine fix to start the day right!
This is definitely a 5 star hotel, regardless of what others stay. We all have to remember this is Pakistan and not a high end resort in Hawaii or Mexico or Maldives. All the staff were amazing and friendly. Especially the following staff who went above and beyond when providing exceptional customer service: Khalid Mehmood - Out breakfast server. Whatever we needed, he would always be willing and ready to provide. Thank you for your prompt service. Hari laal - Housekeeping - Whatever we needed for our rooms, he would get it for us within seconds of our request. Truly an angel. Muhammad Sajid - Concierge (Bell Boy) Manager- We had so many suitcases (almost 20 in total) that we had no idea how we were going to get to the airport for our return flight back to Dubai. He arranged everything for us without any hesitation and kept assuring us that everything would be fine. Thank you for helping us, during a stressful time, given the craziness of the number of luggage we had. Check-in Clerk- I am sorry but I don't recall the name of our check in clerk but I am sure you can find it in your system. He was a younger man who ensured the correct room that we had booked was available and ready for us. This was my first time in Pakistan and I was truly impressed with the Movenpick.
I stayed at Mövenpick Hotel Karachi from 11–13 December 2025 as an ALL – Accor Live Limitless Platinum member, following long-haul international travel. Unfortunately, despite some strong frontline service, the overall experience fell far below the standard expected of an international Mövenpick property. To be clear, lounge and restaurant staff were courteous, attentive, and professional. Their efforts were appreciated and reflected well on them individually. However, the rooms operation and overall management handling were seriously deficient. On arrival, we were allocated an unclean room, requiring immediate room changes after an exhausting journey. Promised Platinum recognition and welcome standards were not delivered until the second evening. The most serious issue occurred overnight on our second night, when personal comfort items belonging to my wife were removed from our locked room without explanation. Despite repeatedly informing staff that the items were not in the room, there were persistent overnight phone calls and an intrusive room entry at approximately 04:00, involving additional staff. This caused severe distress and resulted in complete loss of sleep. The matter remained unresolved for over 11 hours and was only resolved once senior management intervened the following day, at which point the items were located quickly. Management later acknowledged multiple service failures and waived the cost of the two nights. While this was noted, it does not remedy the fact that both nights were already irreparably disrupted, nor does it address the invasion of privacy and emotional distress caused. As a result, we felt unable to continue staying in branded hotels locally and left to stay with friends. This is not a position a Platinum guest should ever be placed in. In summary: frontline hospitality was good, but room standards, overnight procedures, and management response were not fit for an international premium brand.
