This hotel was so good. The receptionist made us feel so welcome right from the off. We arrived early morning hoping to leave our bags due to normal 3pm check in time. However, we were given a room there and then, and asked did we want to upgrade for free! The hotel is close to Amsterdam Central station, and within walking distance to Dam Square. Tram stop right across the road, and taxis always outside hotel. Rooms were beautiful with everything you could want. A very enjoyable stay, and would highly recommend.
I stayed at movenpick amsterdam hotel with my wife for three days. It is within walking distance of the central station, but you can reach the city center by two trams. The location of the hotel is not bad, the view from the rooms overlooking the river is very nice. The behavior of the staff is generally nice, especially the bellboy Esat is very polite and understanding. I thank him. Besides, I find the behavior of the receptionist, Ms. Olena, very rude. I also shared my opinions with the hotel in detail about his speech and behavior towards customers.
First Impressions: Upon arrival, the Movenpick Hotel in Amsterdam immediately impresses with its imposing structure and a well-maintained, aesthetically pleasing lobby. It sets a welcoming tone for the stay. Check-in Experience: The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, providing helpful explanations and assistance. A note for future guests: there's a €150 security deposit, which wasn't mentioned by the third-party booking service, but this is more an oversight on their part rather than the hotel's. Room Quality: The room exceeded expectations in terms of cleanliness and spaciousness. It maintained a comfortable temperature throughout the stay, without any need for adjustments. The lighting was versatile, catering to various preferences. A minor issue was the partially broken toilet flush button, which could benefit from some repairs, but this was a small blip in an otherwise excellent room experience. Amenities: The hotel offers high-speed, easily accessible free Wi-Fi, ensuring a seamless online experience for both leisure and business needs. Food and Dining: Room service was a highlight. The food, particularly the burger and Bitterballen, was exceptional - possibly the best I've ever had. The portions were generous, and the quality of the food was top-notch. Staff and Service: Throughout the stay, the staff consistently demonstrated friendliness and professionalism. Their attentive service significantly enhanced the overall experience. Location and Accessibility: Situated just a 20-minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal, the hotel's location strikes a perfect balance between accessibility and tranquility. Its slightly off-center position in Amsterdam is no issue, thanks to the excellent public transport options. The area itself is beautiful, ideal for those seeking a peaceful stay. Value for Money: The Movenpick offers great value, positioned in that sweet spot where the pricing aligns with high-quality service and amenities without being exorbitantly expensive. Noise and Comfort: The rooms are effectively noise-proof, creating a serene, private atmosphere. The only faint sound was the distant vibration of footsteps outside, which was hardly noticeable. Overall Experience and Recommendation: The Movenpick Hotel in Amsterdam is highly recommended for its combination of comfort, quality, and service. It's an ideal choice for those seeking a classy yet affordable stay in the city. The serene location, exceptional food, and excellent staff make it a top choice for both leisure and business travelers. I left a lemonade that I unfortunately could not finish (and wouldn't be able to take with me on the plane) for a Cleaner as a token of appreciation for the work they do. This hotel is certainly a gem in Amsterdam, perfect for a memorable stay.
The hotel is located on the pier not in the city center about a 15-20 min walk from the central station. On foot to our meeting points in the city for tours took approximately 35 minutes each time and having to cross many lights. Do watch out for cyclists! The hotel itself is clean, friendly staff, but you must pay 2 euro to rent an umbrella. Mövenpick is also a Viking Cruise hotel meaning its pre/post cruise guests also stay here. So if you are cruising it may be a good choice.
We checked into Mövenpick Hotel Wednesday, we were just expecting a basic room but were pleasantly pleased with our upgrade to room 1604, stunning views, so peaceful & and fantastic nights sleep, it’s just perfect! Staff on check in were fantastic. We needed a lend of an adapter the staff had one at hand (it costs €25 deposit). The rooms are huge for Amsterdam- big bathroom, couch to look out the window and big bed! The rooms are spotless. Location wise you are a short ten minute walk to the city or 7 min walk to Central Station.
