Reviews
We stayed at the hotel from the 7th to the 17th January at the hotel. It was so nice espicially the Kevin. But only the last night at 22.30 PM i asked for a favour we have small childrens and we have early flight we need please 14 persons takeaway breakfast and they said kitchen closed go direct to breakfast you came to late and it was not comfortable and nice to me. Also locations from shop and center is little far away otherwise it was good hotel for us. Only the last night service was so bad for us. Thank you Bellcaptain Kevin. You was the best at the hotel.
We stayed for 5 nights over New years having booked 5 nights Movenpick and 5 nights at the Pullman. The resort itself is really well designed and made. We stayed at the residences and had a beautiful sea view room. We waited a long time to check in and when the room was ready we were tired and asked for a bed for our 3 year old and had to pay $60 per night. We understand you sometimes have to pay for extra beds etc but just found this price per night excessive. The reason we hadn’t completely prearranged I was we are diamond members and usually had received an upgrade but understood the hotel was full and couldn’t upgrade us. No problem as the room was so nice but I did just ask since we couldn’t have an upgrade did we really have to pay as much as $60 per night for a simple small bed. We raised it with the guest services lady sunny and she told us in the 2nd day she would try and do something and let us know. Every day after that she kept coming to us saying her manager couldn’t decide what to do yet but she was hopeful and would let us know. In the end she ignored us and nothing happened and it was just irritating that every day we had this discussion which really meant and came to nothing. The resort has good food options but overall the service is not great and we found ourselves having to constantly follow up asking where our drinks were or when our entree would arrive and then the mains etc. The English understanding was challenging and we know we’re weren’t in an English speaking country or island but since we stayed at the Pullman 5 nights after this can just advise that hotel was night and day better in that regard. The other issue for us was simply there are not many sunbeds and of those there are they’re not managed so each morning people had their towels etc. on the small number they had and had them reserved even when not using them for hours. They have a team in place at the pool managing the towels and would be great to also manage the sunbeds so that people can use them.
Nothing special, just ok. For sure nothing what You would expect from a 5 star resort. From start to finish nothing was top notch, not for the price that you are paying in the high season. We stayed 16.-25.02.2024 in the pool access room. LOCATION The resort is remote so if you are planning on eating out you need to take a free city bus from the main road or a taxi. The biggest city is 20 minutes away where there are plenty of restaurants, spas and other resorts to choose from. Close to the resort is one small shop where there is laundry service, food and drinks. There is also a nice restaurant, unfortunately more like a coffee shop with nice design but not so many choices to eat. Resort provides an airport shuttle with a bus on a schedule. Takes about 40 minutes. NIGHT ENTERTAINMENT There is no entertainment at all, no live music or anything what makes your evening time pleasant. The place seems dead and empty. We weren’t expecting any big parties but a local band near the bar would be nice. Once a week on Saturday is a one hour foam party in the pool for kids. Gym is located in the main building and it’s well equipped. If You like running, the loop around the hotel is around 3 km. ACCOMMODATION Pool access room. There are a few rooms with pool access. We’ve changed ours because it was located near a public gathering area and was noisy. We eventually got the third room which was better. The pool is not a deep one, is only 60 cm deep but we appreciate having water access. Water is not warm but for us wasn't an issue. You don't have any extra towels for a pool but you are able to take them from the gym or pool area. Rooms are clean and good enough. Nobody is checking if you have body wash or shampoo. Fridge is not cold so keep in mind if you like to have some cold drinks. Our room was not ready during check in and we had to wait a couple of hours. FOOD AND DRINKS We had breakfast included. First we need to mention that in the high season this resort didn't have enough seats and there was a big queue to get to breakfast. First time this happened to us ever in a 5 star resort. Food was good enough. You have a lot to choose from but you don't have tomatoes every day and oats are missing. Everything else was good. Be prepared to pay extra for breakfast when you arrive in the morning before check in. A few times we ate lunch in the resort so my partner finished eating but I was still waiting for my order. Food was fresh and tasty. Every day is a chocolate hour with some cakes and chocolate. SERVICE Nothing is top notch. Nothing makes your holiday special. The hotel doesn’t do anything for special events like birthdays. I’ve emailed the property beforehand but there was no response. Not a big one, just something to be aware of. Hotel staff are just doing their job. Don't get us wrong, they are friendly and nice but nothing beyond. English can be an issue as well sometimes. Overall the Movempick wasn’t for us. It is a big resort with a big tourist turnaround. It's a 5 stars resort but we only rate it 3.5 stars due to a lack of adult entertainment, breakfast ques, location and a lack of personal touch.
We stayed at the Movenpick in January 2025. The resort is absolutely amazing, the facilities food and staff are all top of the game. Each morning at breakfast our guest relations member Sunny made sure we always felt welcome. She went out of her way to go the extra mile with us, truly outstanding. We would recommend this resort to everyone!
We stayed at this resort in early Jan in a Sea View Suite room. The room was excellent and was furnished to a high standard, It had a huge bedroom, a large separate lounge are and a huge wrap around balcony with perfect uninterrupted views of the sea. Truly bliss! Perfect for watching the sunset. The grounds of the resort are lovely. It is a large resort, and was very busy when we were there. This meant needing to queue up for breakfast (usually about 10 mins). Breakfast was excellent- such a good variety of food and it was plentiful. It was also very difficult to get a chair by the pool or sea, with most of them claimed by 8am in the morning. This needs to be patrolled better, also e people left towels on the loungers, but we’re gone for most of the day. The pool itself was huge and never felt over crowded. The beach was very clean, with calm water. The water temperature was delightful. The main things that prevented this getting a higher score were the food and the resort generally being understaffed. We tried to order room service a couple of times (once when we arrived late, and another when one of us had a tummy bug) and many of the room service items were “sold out”. This meant there were very few items available to order, which was disappointing for our fussy eater child. Food items were expensive and not overly tasty. We ate at the beach restaurant one evening and the service was sub par, I think mainly due to poor staffing. The waiters got our orders wrong twice and the food was pretty bland. The tables around us were not being cleared, everything was a mess. Not their fault, but if the resort is booked to capacity, you need to have the staff to support it. The resort was fairly isolated, but it looks like things are being built nearby, so probably not for long. There is a small restaurant just near the entrance that was about quarter of the price of resort, so definitely worth a visit. There is also a convenience store that is ver reasonably priced. They also do laundry for 20k dong a kilo (approx $1.20 a kg). I would stay at this resort again, but would avoid during peak periods.
