Serenity in the midst of Bangkok.

The staff of Mövenpick were eager to meet our family’s needs. We had some unfortunate events with the alarm clock that set off early in the morning twice, which could’ve been handled better from the room service staff. But the reception was very helpful, apologized and compensated us. The complex in itself is beautiful and serene. The gym and steam room were really good. Unfortunately, the pool is mostly shadowed, and the pool was cold. But the serenity of the hotel was enough for us. When in Bangkok, there’s always so much stress, but coming back to Mövenpick BDMS in the evening was very good for us. The breakfast was also very good, with lots of healthy options. The room might need some polishing, but the complex was awesome. The staff who helped us were very nice, Pannipa and Ibrahim amongst others.

Movenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok

Movenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok What is your ALL status? Platinum Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? We book "Deluxe Suite King" and we get a "Wellness Sleep Suite" that is the same thing but different name and a yoga mat and some gym ball. How are the rooms? Room is nice and proper whith two balconys and two bathrooms, one with shower and bathtube. The are equipped with japanese toilets that have a lot of things going on when you're using it... Heated seat so you will sit there a bit longer than needed. One plays Griegs "Peer Gynt" when you sit on it. No way to stop it so not so nice in the middle of night, the other one will open whenever you get near of it. Interesting... - What was good and what was bad? Good: It is a resort in the middle of Bangkok, so time for pool life and sun at daytime and city life rest of the day and nights. Lovely. One from the management show up at first breakfast asking if everything was ok. We answered Yes but I told them that I do miss Miso soup at the breakfast. Answer was "we will fix that for you tomorrow", and they did. I get Miso soup every morning at the rest of stay. I do love that management and Jah (waitress) who comes whith that soup immediately when we arrive to breakfast. The crew at this hotel is so nice, helpfull and polite. Specially Amran at fromt desk and Mon and "Bonus" at receptiondesk. Bad: A bit old but maintenance is going on. - Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? We arrived just after new year and the lounge was a bit odd. Everyone got a plate of food, so no choices and the bar was run bay a young man that not could handle more than one thing at same time. Long waiting time and the servants have to wait for him to pick up soda wather. Apparently no one else could do that... A few days later there was a woman in the bar managing everything smooth as it should be. Food was then on a desk so you could take just that you wanted as your choice. Much better flow. - What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks? Personal welcomse letter was for a Gold member, but I'm a Platinum as they know. Some macarons and som chocklate tryffles in the room. Welcome drinks are softdrinks, Wine and Cocktails. Would you return? Yes I will be back next time in Bangkok, I do recommend this place but do not tell anyone. This is a gem for those who know about it.

Great location, service needs some improvement

A nice hotel in an excellent location. Our interconnecting rooms worked well, with comfortable beds and pillows. The hotel itself is quiet, but we had a lot of traffic noise from the nearby road, tuk-tuks roaring past all night. The service we experienced from staff was disappointing, much better care could be offered for guests. The lady who checked us in was warm, friendly and helpful. Concierge did not live up to the land of smiles, unfriendly, hardly even looked up from their phones when we walked past to say hello, never asked if we needed anything. Upon checkout we were not asked how our stay was, if we needed a taxi or other help. Both our rooms had a fridge which was empty, not even milk for tea/coffee. Calling to request milk proved difficult, our requests were often misunderstood. Housekeeping was lacking, some items not replenished, we asked for bed linen to be changed, the bed was changed but pillowcases left. Pool is lovely, large and lots of loungers, towels available. Pool staff came to ask what our room number was, but never asked if we wanted to order anything. All little things but overall not the standard expected for a 5-star experience.
