Our first time in the Movenpick Jimbaran and overall, we had a mixed experience during our 3 week stay. We travel 6 months a year for business and spend over 170 nights in Accor hotels. We’ve stayed in them all and this could be the best one in Bali, except for a few issues. On the plus side the hotel is immaculately clean and the décor amazing. Food is also very good and its only a short stroll down a quiet back lane to get to Jimbaran Beach. Side note: don’t eat the seafood from restaurants or mobile vendors on the beach – you will surely get poisoned which I and many of my friends have. Stick to the food in the hotel and you’ll be ok. There’s a labyrinth of relaxing pools, some with sandy bottoms, but they close at 6pm which is too early for holidaymakers. 8pm I think is more acceptable. Also, the pool bar staff could use a bit more training on how to make decent cocktails and they should broaden the beer selection ; not everyone likes Bintang! Unfortunately, being digital nomads, we rely heavily on Wi-Fi to do our job. This is where the hotel falls short. When occupancy levels rise, internet is highly unreliable. The TV stops working also. The team do everything they can to assist but I think the IT and entertainment infrastructure is insufficient for a five star hotel. The air-conditioning stopped working about a week into our stay also. After a few hot days of messing around trying to get it fixed they proposed we move to another room. However, the aircon didn’t work their either so we finally moved to another room where it was fine. Like all good Bali hotels, the staff make the experience enjoyable. Apart from the poor cocktails 😊 you can tell the team here have been trained exceptionally well and the GM should be proud. Special mentions for great service and happy dispositions go to. • Duty Manager: Astri & Dewi • Assistant Front Office Manager: Maicel • IT Manager: Dew • Recreation (Bicycle ride): Agus • Restaurant Waiter: Rio, Tyo and Eka Would we return. Yes probably. Definitely would return every year if a few of these issues were fixed. 😊
Lovely service from the staff since check-in. I stayed here for a weekend staycation with my family, we love the huge pool and big kid's playground. The breakfast was good and had a decent variety. The room had bathtub. Overall, it's a hotel that is fit for family guests with the facilities provided, with walking access to the Samasta food mall.
I tried yoga for the first time since I came to Bali. There were many difficult poses, but I was able to spend a very enjoyable time because they taught me carefully. After returning to Japan, I wanted to study yoga. If I have another chance, I would like to participate in yoga. Thank you for the wonderful time.
Amazing resort! Really enjoyed our stay. We were warmly welcomed by the extremely friendly staff. A huge thankyou for Ms Sharila whos very helpful in everystep we made. We will be back again with the whole family.
Very good. Staff are a credit to your training, polite and very friendly. Plenty of room in the gardens and poolside tropical feel and spacious. If you have a late flight ask and they will supply you with a room to shower and change.
