A soulless conference centre

Having taken the red-eye flight out from London we were pleased our room was ready for us upon arrival, however, our pleasure was short lived as we found our room to be extremely tired looking - the shower was covered in limescale, the shaving mirror was missing as was the shelf in the shower. When we stepped out to admire the view from the tiny balcony, our hearts sank to find we were overlooking the huge children’s pool from the next door hotel and could hear very loud music, which meant we couldn’t sit outside and kept the door closed! We were too exhausted to complain / ask to be moved to another room given our early start and given we were only going to be staying 3 nights and would hardly be spending much time in the room and besides, upon check-in we were told the hotel was at full capacity. The beds were comfortable at least, although the air con was very loud and didn’t seem to operate well (cool the room). We felt we were put in a block (Zidane) which was low grade and well overdue a refurb!! On one occasion we were not left any towels in the room - we had to ring reception 4 times to ask for towels and waited 45 minutes!! This made us late for our dinner reservation in the Medina. Generally speaking the staff overall were nice. However, we were shocked that there seemed to be no rules or none which were adhered to and no-one to challenge large groups of adults (there was a huge gathering of candidates attending a 2-3 day “logistics conference” ) who were drinking (glass) bottles of beer in the pool and leaving their empties around the side of the pool - the pool in particular is also where children swim!! I would not recommend this hotel and would never stay again!

Wonderful stay with my friends at Movenpick Marrakech !

We had the pleasure to stay for 2 nights at Movenpick! We really appreciated how caring the staff was (from outside until the front desk). We really were amazed about how Morocco's culture stood out within such an international Hospitality brand like Accor. Indeed, a little shout out to Mohamed the tea man of the hotel, that always welcomed us with a smile and nice glass of mint tea! We appreciated all the premises and spaces. We also had a wonderful dinner at Marcelona restaurant ! Every breakfast was a delight, so congratulations to all cooking masters as well as the staff within the restaurant ! Eventually we really enjoyed the "adults only" pool to be able to relax and enjoy nice swimming time! We already wish to come back there soon!

Great experience, amazing staff

Staff at this place goes above and beyond. Great service in particular Oumaima and Mohammed in reception and also Fatima who makes melwi in the morning - the best I have ever tasted and always served with a smile. The hotel is lovely. The adult pool did have a couple of kids for about half an hour but other than that it was great.

Fabulous stay - well done Movenpick

Exceptional hotel, all staff were very friendly and accommodating. We travelled as a family with two young children and hotel staff went out of their way to keep cater for us. On check-in we were upgraded to the Penthouse suite which was a truly exceptional experience. I would definitely recommend staying at the Movenpick. Its located fairly centrally (in the new town) and a short taxi ride away from the old town if you want to visit all the historic sites. The hotel was also very helpful in organizing daily excursions/tours to the Atlas Mountains. Overall a fabulous holiday made extra special by staff members at the hotel. Shout out to: Oumaima Farnousse - super friendly and accommodating, helped us with several things from arranging money exchange to extending our stay. Hanane, Khaoula, Hamza, Samira, Nawal, Mini Abdellatif, Latifa and Mohamed also made our stay so special. THANK YOU ALL.
