Short but Sweet Stay

We stayed here for one night as the hotel we had originally told us there was a technical fault with our room so they booked us in here instead. It was about 15 mins walk from Centraal Station. We had a suite which was gorgeous! Huge bathroom with a heated floor, big lounge area with a tv and a super comfy bed in a separate with another tv. We arrived in the dark so didn’t realise we were overlooking the cruise terminal until we woke up in the morning and saw all of the boats that had come in early in the morning. That said, there was no noise at all. Breakfast was great, loads and loads of choice including smoked salmon and lots of different salad choices. Not really close to the canals but a good walk away from the centre. Would be perfect if you were going on a river cruise though

Worst hotel experience I’ve had in years!!

I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels in tens of countries, and this is by far hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had! I arrived to check in after midnight and there was not a single person available to help with luggage. I ended up dragging three suitcases to my room alone. I then went to shower before bed only to find the shampoo bottle completely empty. I tried calling reception several times with no answer. I assumed housekeeping would fix it the next day, but I came back in the afternoon to find no room service done and the shampoo still empty. Only then could I finally get someone to bring some. The next morning, I woke up to no hot water. I had to take a freezing cold shower because the hotel was having heater issues that weren’t resolved until the following day. At checkout, instead of an apology or any acknowledgment of the poor experience, I had to deal with yet another headache. Despite my stay being fully prepaid, the front desk insisted they never received payment and even claimed I had extended my stay, which was completely false. I had to contact my booking agency to straighten it out because it was wasting time and energy. This entire stay was stressful, poorly managed, and absolutely not what you would expect from a hotel at this price point.

Exceptional service helping us out a difficult situation!

We just checked out of this hotel after a lovely 3 day break in Amsterdam. This is a really nice hotel. We were so impressed by our spacious, comfy room on the 20th floor - the views were great! We had booked a twin room and there were no double on arrival but they put a mattress topper on which honestly was great and effectively made it a double bed that was very comfy. The room was silent with no noise in the corridor at all which was brilliant for sleeping. The check in time was a bit lengthy and busy around 3pm. The hotel is about a mile walk from the station and 20 min walk to the central area, along the prom so can be quite windy but I can imagine is very pleasant with a canal and cruise terminal right outside. We were so delighted with the service we checked out at 630 am for a flight and when we got the station were advised our flight was cancelled. I telephoned the hotel and with no issue whatsoever they gave us our room back until 1pm which was an absolute blessing and for which we were extremely grateful for, demonstrating exceptional customer service. We would return again to this hotel.

top notch staff at front desk

i stayed at movenpick hotel over christmas short family stay having some fun in the city center great breakfast / comfy beds/ ten min walk what made the whole trip was the outstanding service provided by the front desk. in particular “medi” was unbelievable! made our trip. the hotel is very lucky to have him as an employee. he was very hospitable, helped us with all our questions, and was always available/ what an absolute rock star. we will define come back to this hotel. thank you medi for such a great trip room 1017

Awful Hôtel experience

Arrived at hotel given room checked mattress as there was a funny smell and what we found was bed bug eggs little black eggs or poo reported to reception and were given another room which we had to request to be cleaned toilet was filthy and room and beds needed vacuuming very dissatisfying as this was recommended to me would definitely not stay again or recommend 😡
