Very good hotel. Would stay again

Lovely room with good shower and very comfortable bed. Located in a hilly area but access at rear of building in Watson Street meant worst hill could be avoided. Good pool, steam room and gym. Visited bar/restaurant for a drink only. Meals looked good and there was a nice atmosphere in the area. At 4.00 pm daily (lasting 1 hour) there was ,at the start of February 2026, a free chocolate fountain with sweets, cakes, biscuits etc. Staff very friendly and helped with baggage when leaving. Would definitely stay again.

Would stay here again.

Lovely hotel. Valet parking and car was waiting for us when we checked out. Chocolates available at check-in and really good cookies when we checked out. Bed was comfortable with extra pillows we requested. Appreciated the walk-in shower. Lovely view overlooking the city. Breakfast was great with many choices nicely displayed. We also enjoyed dinner at the restaurant. The only con was the bathroom door didn't close totally.

Excellent facilities and service

We enjoyed our three night stay at the Movenpick. We had an excellent room with views over the town. What stood out for us was the friendly service in the hotel bar and restaurant. Dinner was lovely (the duck confit and veggies were delicious) and advice on the local gins was on point from Dily who is an absolute credit to the hotel. The breakfast was also one of the best we experienced on our six week trip with the opportunity to purchase a speciality coffee rather than just the machine coffee available at the buffet. We also appreciated the chance to order short orders such as omelettes or pancakes as well as the bountiful buffet. The last word has to be for the popular chocolate happy hour, thank you, we will be back!

Shoutout to John

While I have learned to be happy in a variety of places, I would give this place a 2 (were it not for John who helped me get a reservation at a popular spot last minute). I do like being able to hear the birds outside the open window of my room. This said, the espresso machine in my room which had me very excited to wake up and sip seemed to have had old milk swished through it such that black coffee literally tasted rotten. The elevators are painfully slow. The mini fridge is wonky. The hallways are difficult to navigate. Really to me this feels like an ok Air Bnb but not a hotel.
