Another lovely stay - central to (almost) everything in Hobart. We walked everywhere we wanted to go, & used an Uber & a hire car when walking wasn’t an option. The suite we had was fantastic, super quiet, immaculately clean, comfi bed & spectacular views. Staff were all lovely & the free chocolate hour every day is a big bonus too! Breakfasts were wonderful, but we didn’t eat at the restaurant any other meals. Buffet was also super clean & well presented (some places can be pretty awful). We will be back & will choose to stay here again.
Lovely, comfortable room with a city view. Hotel is centrally located, only a short walk to shops and cafes. No car parking on site, valet parking is available for a fee. Valet must be booked ahead of time to bring car to front of hotel which is just a pick up/drop off area. No laundry facilities available at the hotel.
Had a lovely room overlooking the harbour; comfy beds but for me the pillows were too hard. Could do with a choice of soft pillows in the room as well. Bathroom was ample size and well equipped. Staff friendly and accommodating. Good location for walking around the harbour and other restaurants. Car parking was about 5 mins away. Breakfast (continental) gave a lot of choice and was reasonably priced. The Toscaro restaurant was also good value - pizzas were excellent. Would stay here again.
We recently stayed at the Mövenpick and overall had a positive experience with a few notable drawbacks. The location was fantastic—just a few minutes’ walk to the port and harbor, making it incredibly convenient. The staff were both friendly and helpful, ensuring our bags were delivered to our room and accommodating us with a late check-out, which we really appreciated. The rooms were spotless, and the bed was not only large but also extremely comfortable. Additionally, the amenities provided were excellent and added to the overall quality of our stay. However, the room temperature was a consistent issue. During the day, it was stuck at 24°C and only dropped to about 22°C at night. We had to keep the curtains closed during the day to manage the heat, which was far from ideal. While the warmth of the room was frustrating, the overall experience was still enjoyable thanks to the great location, friendly staff, and clean, comfortable accommodations. With a few tweaks to the room’s temperature control, this would be a near-perfect place to stay.
We had a staycation in Hobart and chose the Movenpick as I am just short of gaining ALL Platinum status. The hotel recognised our Gold status well and we enjoyed a room upgrade and welcome drinks. The room itself was large and tasteful with a great bathroom including an actual bath. The bed was comfy and we enjoyed watching our own shows on the TV with Chromecast. The chocolate hour was great with loads of tasty sweet treats to try. Breakfast was served downstairs in Tesoro which was tasty. We had asked for a high floor room but were only on level 6 - a higher floor would have given a proper city view. Also the parking is annoying - valet is a hefty $35 per night and they do not have any arrangements with nearby parking lots. We booked our own space at the Village carpark for $20 but other hotels in Hobart have arrangements to make it cheaper (eg Travelodge $15 and Mantra $18). Movenpick need to do the same.
