Jazz in Duke Town

Jazz in Duketown is the largest free open-air jazz festival in the Netherlands. It is organized at Pentecost in the city of Hertogenbosch. The festival is held at 10 different venues in the city. Many popular artists and newcomers are holding various concerts in different styles with contemporary jazz crossovers in the direction of soul, blues, funk, world music and dance.

November music

Visitors to November Music 2017 can fully enjoy today's manifold musical landscape. The festival opens spectacularly with the Bosch Requiem written by German composer Detlev Glanert, played by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Then on to Steve Coleman's multilayered jazz, the sacral sounds of Huelgas Ensemble, pianist Rembrandt Frerichs' brand-new project with Cello8tet Amsterdam or the Iranian tar and setar virtuoso Hossein Alizadeh. And this is just a small selection.

Carnival

Especially in the provinces of Limburg and North Brabant, carnival is a big event with a lot of traditions. The carnival princes take over the power of the civil authorities in villages and towns in a symbolic handover of the keys. Everybody is dressing up and celebrating in cafes and restaurants. On Shrove Tuesday around midnight carnival mascots and symbols are burned, buried or drowned. On Ash Wednesday, daily life is back.

Paaspop

Paaspop is an annual music and performing arts festival, taking place in Schijndel on the Molenheide Estate. There are 12 different stages, offering anything from rock to hip hop, house to theatre and pop to metal. Apart from that, there's an incredible amount of other things to experience. With 50,000 visitors and more than 175 acts, every edition is an incredible party.
